I don't like people who talk. Just sit there with me, talk to the breeze, the sea, the sky, take chai a sip at a time and fall in love with all of it everyday.
From @WSJopinion: Pakistan has put itself back on the diplomatic map. Its army chief consolidates his power at home by brokering a cease-fire between Iran and the U.S., writes @dhume.

I am pleased to share a great news that the Government of Iran has agreed to allow 20 more ships under the Pakistani flag to pass through the Strait of Hormuz; two ships will cross the Strait daily.
This is a welcome and constructive gesture by Iran and deserves appreciation. It is a harbinger of peace and will help usher stability in the region.
This positive announcement marks a meaningful step toward peace and will strengthen our collective efforts in that direction.
Dialogue, diplomacy, and such confidence-building measures are the only way forward.

One of Pakistan's leading scholars and jurists, Shaykh al-Islam Mufti Taqi Usmani, recently delivered a speech on Iran and the issues of Sunni-Shia sectarianism. The following clip, which is in Urdu, highlights these points:
(1) The US and Israel did not attack Iran because it is “Shia”, but because it is regarded as a foundational part of Islam.
(2) Despite our differences, this is not the time to raise Sunni and Shia polemics. In fact, we should be united.
(3) If we stand united as a Umma, then the US and Israel cannot harm us.
(4) The US and Israel are doing their best to sow seeds of sectarianism and hatred between Sunnis and Shias so that we fight each other.
These were some of the main points. It is encouraging to see figures like Mufti Taqi and other senior scholars speaking with such clarity in these turbulent times. This is how true scholars lead and speak.
When you don't know EXACTLY what's going on, it's best not to say the wrong thing. Let those with a deeper understanding in that matter say what needs to be said. The Prophetic teaching to those who believe in the day of reckoning is to "utter what's upright or remain silent".
Let me make clear to people here & abroad: Our govt only took action against TLP under our anti-terrorist law when they challenged the writ of the state and used street violence & attacking the public & law enforcers. No one can be above the law and the Constitution.
