“A night for all Geordies, everywhere”

Very difficult to articulate beating PSG 4-1, but I attempted to on @bbcnewcastle with Anna Foster.

Here’s a snippet of how I’m feeling today (spoiler alert, my mind is still blown).

@MJCRyton The system and tactics created plenty of opportunities from us to score from, we’re just not clinical or ruthless enough right now when those chances come.

Agree on the last two points mate

[Adam Widdrington @AddingRandomWit]

Embarrassing, infuriating night.

Wasted chances, terrified of pulling the trigger and hopeless finishing (bar Botman’s) when we did.

Individuals errors all night. Poor in midfield. Hornicek shaky.

Jaissle needs to change things, we can’t keep playing like this away. #NUFC

[Adam Widdrington @AddingRandomWit]

Complete panic, chaos & disarray towards the end. But a massive 3 points going into international break given both teams’ form & our injuries.

Explosive opening put us in control but penalty miss gave them a lifeline they threw everything at. Not pretty, but a crucial win. #NUFC

[Adam Widdrington @AddingRandomWit]

A humbling defeat. Leeds too good for us & have showed more conviction and courage tonight. We lacked fight.

Whole team have just been so porous and easy to play through. Leeds passing and attacking intent far better.

Deserved consolation for Toure, but lots to learn. #NUFC

[Adam Widdrington @AddingRandomWit]

3 wins, 2 draws, 2 clean sheets and still unbeaten. Not a bad start for Jaissle at all, and the players seem to be really taking to him. Lots more to come I’m sure but a really solid foundation of results to build on. #NUFC

Late draw rescued after a tepid opening hour full of mistakes. Bournemouth good 1st half, 2 fortuitous goals (foul & deflection). We showed character and belief last 30.

Scandalous refereeing, held both teams to different standards.

Stunning Barnes curler. Still unbeaten. #NUFC

[True Faith: Newcastle United Podcast @tfNUFC]

We welcomed Newcastle United CEO David Hopkinson to the True Faith studio where among many things he discussed the appointment of Matthias Jaissle as our new manager following the departure of Eddie Howe.

Is MJ the man to take us forward?

@FabianChair @Oxford_Life Jaouen will definitely be No. 2 for Jaissle.

[Adam Widdrington @AddingRandomWit]

Happy enough if there’s acknowledgement that Murphy/Willock’s #NUFC careers have almost run their course.

If holding onto them an extra year means we’re able to replace them with better signings in 2027 than today, it’ll be worth it.

V surprised to see Pope still here though.

[Adam Widdrington @AddingRandomWit]

@Oxford_Life I saw the same thing. Can only assume he’s on a decent wage and doesn’t want to give it up! If he wants to be 3rd choice keeper then ensures strength in depth, just hope it doesn’t affect squad harmony. Doesn’t seem the type though.

[Adam Widdrington @AddingRandomWit]

On a sixpence. Buzzing for him! #NUFC

[Adam Widdrington @AddingRandomWit]

What a result and performance! Dedic, Hall & Hornicek superb.

Great goals from the reborn Wissa & Elanga. Better 2nd half where we were just more clinical. Solid debut for Nico too!

4 points and unbeaten - not bad for a supposed relegation candidate…

Fair play Jaissle! #NUFC

[Adam Widdrington @AddingRandomWit]

Impressive agility and improvisation from Wissa after Woltemade’s knock down. Deserves his goal after his performances this week.

Tonali leaves the field to a chorus of Geordie vitriol. Beautiful.

Let’s hope we can hold on. #NUFC

[Adam Widdrington @AddingRandomWit]

Two new signings combine to feed the man who feels like a new signing. What a spin and strike and what a start to the new season for Anthony Elanga! #NUFC

[Adam Widdrington @AddingRandomWit]

@Wig82 @tfNUFC @PodontheTyne I’ve got the height advantage but I’d 100% bottle it haha

[Adam Widdrington @AddingRandomWit]

Cracking night with Big Al, @tfNUFC, @PodontheTyne! #NUFC

[Adam Widdrington @AddingRandomWit]

@GianfrancoShoIa @tfNUFC @PodontheTyne He definitely said he had a 4am flight in the early hours yeah haha
