The Ethiopian delegation’s experience at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary Uganda’s true wilderness narrative. As the rhinos posed majestically for photographs, the delegation witnessed why Uganda remains one of Africa’s fastest-rising sustainable tourism destinations. #UgandaEthiopiaFamtrip

Uganda and Ethiopia are linked not only by diplomacy, but by Africa’s long historical continuity from the ancient civilizations of Aksum to the modern vision of regional economic integration. Today, after participating in #POATE2026, the Ethiopian delegation hosted by the @AddisUganda begins immersion into the real #PearlOfAfrica from the UNESCO-listed Kasubi Tombs to the Uganda Martyrs Shrine and the Source of the Nile. As home to the African Union and one of Africa’s largest populations, Ethiopia remains a strategic gateway for intra-African tourism, trade and connectivity. #UgandaEthiopiaFamtrip #ExploreUganda #AfricanDiplomacy #VisitUganda #POATE2026 #PearlOfAfrica
The Ethiopia-Uganda FAM Trip began from the sacred grounds of Kasubi Tombs to the solemn silence of Namugongo Martyrs Shrine, where the Ethiopian delegation found themselves immersed in reflection and prayer following the suspension of this year’s Martyrs Day celebrations. From the Cradle of Humankind to the Source of the Nile, Ethiopia and Uganda are connected by more than diplomacy they are united by history, faith, civilization and Africa’s shared future. As Ethiopia gave the world Coffee Arabica and ancient civilization, Uganda continues to harness the spource of the Nile for energy, tourism and regional growth. #UgandaEthiopiaFamtrip #ExploreUganda #AfricanDiplomacy #VisitUganda #POATE2026 #PearlOfAfrica #PearlOfAfrica
After the rhino encounter at Ziwa, the Ethiopian delegation proceeded to the Top of the Falls where the mighty Victoria Nile forces itself through a narrow 7-meter gorge before plunging 43 meters into the Devil’s Cauldron with breathtaking power. Standing above the roaring falls, the delegation witnessed not only nature’s force but the strategic importance of the Nile to Uganda’s tourism, energy and regional economic future. #UgandaEthiopiaFamtrip #ExploreUganda #AfricanDiplomacy #VisitUganda #POATE2026 #PearlOfAfrica
As the first light touched the palm-dotted plains, 76 mammal species including Uganda Kob & Bushbucks, Warthogs, Waterbucks, Jackson’s hartebeest, Antelopes & Other Grazers, the true “survivors of the night” emerged gracefully into the new day during the sacred period of Arafah Day (Yawm Arafah), a moment of reflection, gratitude and renewal. Under Uganda’s Economic & Commercial Diplomacy strategy, conservation tourism continues to position the country as a gateway for sustainable investment, regional tourism and climate-conscious development. This was the Ethiopian delegation’s dawn experience inside Murchison Falls National Park Uganda’s oldest and largest conservation area. #UgandaEthiopiaFamtrip #ExploreUganda #AfricanDiplomacy #VisitUganda #POATE2026 #PearlOfAfrica
To fully understand the power of Murchison Falls, the Ethiopian delegation descended from the Top of the Falls onto the Nile itself where a boat cruise to the foot of the falls revealed the true meeting point between rock, water and history. Here, the Nile wages its eternal battle with the Rift Valley rocks, exploding through a narrow gorge before sending mist, thunder and permanent rainbows across the sky. Along the banks stood elephants, buffaloes, crocodiles and pods of hippos witnesses to one of Africa’s greatest natural theatres. This is why Murchison Falls remains central to Uganda’s tourism diplomacy and conservation economy under the ECD framework. #UgandaEthiopiaFamtrip #ExploreUganda #AfricanDiplomacy #VisitUganda #POATE2026 #PearlOfAfrica
The chimps of Kibale must have received the diplomatic memo. after learning that Ethiopia delegation was arriving from one of Africa’s oldest civilizations a country with no wild chimpanzees of its own Kibale’s famous residents decided to stage a cinematic welcome into the Pearl of Africa. Swinging across the emerald canopy, calling through the rainforest and performing with unmatched energy, the chimpanzees turned the forest into a live African documentary before the eyes of the Ethiopian delegation. #ExploreUganda #AfricanDiplomacy #VisitUganda #POATE2026 #PearlOfAfrica
From the royal heritage of Kasubi Tombs to the spiritual reflection at Namugongo, the Ethiopian delegation’s journey through Uganda began with history, faith and identity. Then came Jinja where the Nile begins its historic journey across Africa before the wild welcomed them at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary and the breathtaking plains of Murchison Falls National Park. At the Top of the Falls, the mighty Nile thundered through the gorge as if unveiling the true meaning of the Pearl of Africa.

On the journey to Bwindi, the Ethiopian delegation crossed one of Uganda’s most iconic routes through Queen Elizabeth National Park, the Kazinga Channel and the Equator at Kikorongo. Founded in 1952 and renamed in honor of Queen Elizabeth II’s visit to Uganda, the park remains one of Africa’s richest biodiversity corridors, home to over 95 mammal species and 600 bird species. At Kikorongo, where the Equator cuts through the heart of western Uganda, diplomacy, geography and adventure met in one unforgettable experience. #ExploreUganda #AfricanDiplomacy #VisitUganda #POATE2026 #PearlOfAfrica
🇺🇬🇪🇹With only 2 days left on their Familiarization Trip, the Ethiopian delegation today entered the legendary Bwindi Impenetrable National Park a UNESCO World Heritage Site safeguarding nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. Beyond tourism, Bwindi reflects Uganda’s Economic & Commercial Diplomacy (ECD) strategy where conservation, community livelihoods, climate action and regional investment converge into one sustainable growth model. #ExploreUganda #AfricanDiplomacy #VisitUganda #POATE2026 #PearlOfAfrica
🇺🇬☕🇪🇹Leaving the misty forests of Bwindi was never going to be easy for the Ethiopian delegation. The cool breeze, untouched rainforest air, and the silence of nature had already written unforgettable memories into the Pearl of Africa journey. But Uganda’s Economic & Commercial Diplomacy experience was far from over. Coming from Ethiopia, the historic birthplace of Coffee Arabica, the delegation made stop at @InspireAfrica_ where Uganda introduced another chapter of its green economy story of the rich volcanic soils, tropical climate, and fertile landscapes produce a uniquely bold aroma and flavor that continues to position the country among Africa’s leading coffee exporters. #ExploreUganda #AfricanDiplomacy #VisitUganda #POATE2026 #PearlOfAfrica
As the post-#POATE2026 Fam Trip entered its final stretch, Lake Mburo National Park became the last wilderness chapter before the Ethiopian delegation carried their memories back to the land of ancient civilization and Coffee Arabica. Lake Mburo is more than a stopover; it is a conservation success story where tourism, community livelihoods, and environmental stewardship coexist. As the delegation embarked on an evening game walk, zebras, impalas, elands, and graceful giraffes emerged across the golden savannah, offering an intimate wildlife experience rarely found elsewhere in Africa. #ExploreUganda #AfricanDiplomacy #VisitUganda #POATE2026 #PearlOfAfrica
