Two decades later, there are more than 700 alumni who serve in strategic leadership positions, including senior government officials and executives in the private sector. Because of the success of our Presidential scholars, more universities started extending scholarship opportunities to privately funded students.
As a country, we look forward to continuing building on the achievements of our strong collaboration. Twenty-years is a special milestone. Let’s keep working together to write the next chapter of our journey.” President Kagame | Twenty-year celebration of Rwanda and Oklahoma Christian University Partnership

“I think private sector is doing a good job, in fact, it is ahead of the public sector. They are actually, to some level, hustlers.
They are able to go through some of the barriers that are created by the public sector, but if those barriers were not there, the private sector would be far ahead of where they are, and along with that, the continent would be ahead of where we are.
Those of us in the public sector need to fine tune our responsibilities towards allowing the private sector to be the engine that they are, and should be, and all of us would benefit.” President Kagame | Opening Ceremony of the Africa CEO Forum 2026 #ACF2026
