You have been diagnosed with high blood pressure, but you say, “I don't like taking drugs.”
You need to understand that taking your prescribed medication as directed helps you manage your blood pressure and reduce your risk of complications.
High blood pressure can be silent, but its complications can be life-threatening.
Take your health seriously.
I am so sorry for the kind of trauma those people put you through. 🙏
This is why I encourage stock taking to be a must in any setting. whether in a pharmacy, hospital, foodstuff business, or any other organisation.
Stock taking helps you detect expired products and monitor stock effectively.
In addition to this, I will also advise anyone to prioritise getting tests such as blood group, genotype, hepatitis, HIV, etc., confirmed at another facility before making any conclusion,
especially when the result is unexpected or questionable.
It is well with everyone out there. 🙏
Today makes it exactly 4 years since a health centre alleged that I was HIV-positive. I was 8 months pregnant at the time.
I cried my eyes out, ran home, and told my husband. He said, "It can’t be possible, baby." He took me to our main hospital, where I got tested again, and the result came back negative.
We went to two other hospitals after that, and the results were all negative.
My husband stormed that health centre in anger, only for the Chief to casually come out and apologize, saying their test kits had expired and they had no idea until then. They had discarded all the kits before us and admitted that the government had promised to supply them with a new batch. However, since they were yet to receive it, they decided to continue managing the expired ones.
Imagine the emotional trauma they put me through especially when I was 8 months pregnant! and this would've put a dent in my marraige.
Nigeria. 💔
Ebola (Bundibugyo) has been confirmed in Kenya. Deaths have been reported, and there is no approved vaccine for this strain. Seven patients are receiving care. The nine confirmed cases are linked to one cluster, with no wider community spread reported so far.
Prevention still matters:
• Wash hands with soap and water
• Avoid blood and body fluids of anyone suspected
• Avoid touching the body of someone who died from suspected Ebola
• If you may have been exposed, inform public health authority and seek medical attention immediately.
EBOLA CASE has also been confirmed in FCT.
Please let us take our preventive measures seriously.
Stay safe ❤️
Watch out for these danger signs and take precautions now 👇 👇
HEATSTROKE is a serious, life-threatening condition that happens when the body's temperature rises dangerously and the body can no longer regulate its temperature properly.
Heatstroke can happen when you are exposed to very hot weather or engage in hard physical activities in hot weather.
HEATSTROKE is a medical emergency!
This heat season, it is better we know the signs and symptoms of HEATSTROKE to watch out for and how to PREVENT it.
Signs and symptoms to watch out for 👇
- Very high body temperature
- Severe headache
- Dizziness or fainting
- Confusion or unusual behaviour
- Rapid heartbeat and rapid breathing
- Nausea and vomiting
- Seizures or loss of consciousness
How do we PREVENT heatstroke?
- Drink water regularly.
- Wear light, loose-fitting and comfortable clothes.
- Stay in a cool, well-ventilated place.
- Avoid strenuous activities during the hottest part of the day.
- Stay under the shade when you are outdoors.
- Take cool showers or use cool, damp cloths to help your body cool down.
- Please check on your babies, children and older parents.
- Don't leave your child inside a parked vehicle, even for a second.
The weather is very hot.
I checked the weather forecast today, and the temperature was around 32°C, but the “feels like” temperature was 42°C.
It's crazy, right? 🌝
Why do so many people feel anxious or scared when a healthcare professional says “go and check your blood pressure”?
Let’s talk about it 👇
Is it the fear of the result?
The machines?
Past experiences?
Something else?
Share your reason or what you have noticed in others.
No judgment. ❤️

Last night, I called my dad and informed him about the precautions to take during this period of heat.
I told him to:
- Drink water regularly.
- Stay in a well-ventilated place.
- Avoid wearing thick clothes.
As a public health educator, I know how important awareness can be and how it can save lives.
I didn't stop there. I also shared the information with my colleagues and neighbours where I live.
This morning, I am continuing the awareness by reaching out to people around me.
Some people don't have time for social media, so they may not see the health information we share online. That's why we also need to take the awareness to them directly.
Please, let's do the same today. Talk to your family, friends, neighbours and colleagues about staying safe during this heat period.
And don't forget to drink water too!
Ensure your children drink water regularly, as they may not always tell you when they need water or when they are becoming dehydrated.
Don't wait until you feel thirsty before drinking water.
Stay safe out there!
