I did my final jury as an undergraduate yesterday.
But for the stress, I really enjoyed working on the project.
I am grateful to God for how far I've come
I find myself thinking about the architecture of fear lately.
With the recent happenings, should Nigerian architects begin to design beautiful prisons instead of homes/schools?🤔

Welcome to June!!
As we transition into the second half of the year, our focus deepens. Architecture is not just about building walls; it’s about the thoughtful making of space, the manipulation of light, and the journey through it.

Wherever the masters gather, the archive follows. 🎥✨...
We kept that promise. It was an incredible last week of connecting with the visionaries shaping our cities and the brilliant students who will design our future at LAF 17.0
Indeed, the Archive is growing.

Architecture is more than buildings, it’s ideas, perspectives, and people.

Nigeria has great architects.
But their stories and philosophies are rarely documented.
Spatial Perspectives is an initiative dedicated to preserving and exploring the history and philosophy of architecture in Nigeria
This video introduces the vision behind the initiative.
The J. F. Ade Ajayi Auditorium is one of the most recognizable institutional buildings on the University of Lagos campus, defined by bold concrete geometry, dramatic roof overhangs, and a strong brutalist-tropical modernist identity.
Architecture must be rational, but it must also be beautiful, and beauty is shaped by culture.
From deep eaves shielding against tropical rain and sun to parapets defining modern skylines, every roof tells a story of climate, context, and intent.
The design of the faculty employed a number of strong architectural principles including good circulation and level variation.
While these give the space structure, the execution of the vision falters in some critical areas.
The completion of a building is just the end of 'Formal Design' and the beginning of the Architecture of Survival.
This image shows the user’s response to a climatic reality that the original blueprint couldn't predict.

Following the blueprint wasn't smooth but amidst all the chaos, clarity emerged and even birthed Spatial Perspectives.
The first lap is complete. The journey continues.
Follow @SpatialPer as we write letters to the future one conversation at a time.

Happy new year✨
We had an unavoidable pause that allowed for reflection and realignment.
Thank you for your patience. We return this new year with renewed focus and direction.
