You Can Get Away With Anything In Nigeria If You Have The Right Political Connections - Sanusi
You have institutions that are supposed to identify corrupt people and prosecute them. You have courts that are supposed to do it. We have seen in this country people who are facing corruption charges who basically just get those charges dropped because they belong to the right political environment or have the right political support. We have people who have legal processes where people are questioning if in fact, it is a fight against corruption or political persecution.
"My 6-year-old said:
'I hate school.'
I asked:
'And what do you think we should do about it?'
She answered:
'I want to sit beside someone else.""
Problem named.
Solution considered.
When we talk about longevity in football, we mostly mention Cristiano Ronaldo and rightly so. But right here in Nigeria, we have our own incredible example in my club, Kano Pillars.
Rabiu Ali, popularly known as Pele, is 45 years old and the man has just scored in his 20th season for Kano Pillars! 🤯⚽
Twenty seasons representing the club at the highest level is extraordinary. At an age when most players have long retired, Rabiu Ali is still putting the ball in the net and showing that experience and passion can keep you going.
A true Kano Pillars legend. 🐘 💚💛
Here is why I am happy I pay taxes to the Canadian government..
As a Canadian citizen:
Firstly, if you understand what true citizenship is all about, then read below....
Upon completing 700 insurable hours of work and you lose your job through no fault of your own (for example, due to shortage of work, or otherwise, bro and sis, you will be automatically entitled to apply and receive employment insurance benefits up to 55% for your previous pay for a period of 52 weeks till you get a new employment.
They want to force taxes on you, ask them what they ever offered you as a Nigerian if you ever lost your job since you attained 18 years...Ask them 🤔 Nothing....
Secondly, ask those paid tax propagandists and agents of Nigerian government how many homeless, low-income earners and families receive housing benefits if there is anything like that ....
When my wife had our last baby, Mofiyinfoluwa, my wife received free antenatal care and birthed her through CS for free in a top class hospital without paying a dime which ordinary could be up to 50,000 for non-Canadian citizens and continuous follow up to be sure her and the baby are doing well. That's what true citizenship enjoy and its all about...
My kids enjoy free and compulsory education and the school bus take them to and back from school for free. Only pay a token for school supplies..
I have never been stopped by a police or law enforcement officer in the last seven years. No one ever asked me "wetin you carry for your trunk." None asked me make I see your paper."
Police officers will talk to you like normal being because they get well paid and treated well compared to the Nigerian police officer who guide criminal political class who end up looting their pension and gratuity....
No politician dare loot public funds or taxes because he knows he will face the full wrath of the law and no judges to bribe or buy over...
No government officials or province premier will go welcome the Prime Minister with the taxpayer funds. They know that is a precious waste of time and human resources compared to Nigerian governors who don't value time and derive pleasure in wasting public funds that could be judiciously used..
Let me stop here....
When they tell you as a Nigerian that you will start paying taxes from next week, ask them questions 🙄
What have they done in the last 10 years with all the budget allocation for education, health, security, sports, agriculture, defense and many more..... 😳
Hence, I never enjoyed anything for free as a Nigerian before migrating to Canada, can Oga Taiwo and its agent tell Nigerians why do we have to trust them and what are the benefits of paying taxes in Nigeria if not that it will be used to fund the political class and make some criminals richer???
Again, no responsible, empathetic and caring government tax the citizens where the majority are poor.
That is purely evil and wickedness....
Sensible Nigerians didn't bargain for this evil government 🙄 😒
No be life we dey live for Nigeria, no let anyone gaslight you oooo
#EndTaxLaw in Nigeria now!

Imagine for a moment you were born in the year 1900. At age 14, World War I breaks out, ending at age 18, leaving 22 million dead.
Shortly after, a global pandemic appears, the Spanish flu, which kills 50 million people. And you survive, at 20 years.
At 29, you survive the global economic crisis that starts with the fall of the New York Stock Exchange, causing inflation, unemployment and hunger.
At age 33, Nazism comes to power.
When you're 39, World War II starts and ends when you're 45, with 60 million dead.
At 52 years old, the Korean War begins.
When you're 64 years old, the Vietnam War starts and ends when you're 75.
Then a person born in 1985 thinks that their grandparents have no idea how difficult life is, not knowing that they have survived several wars and disasters.
Honored to receive this award from @ChampionsLeague for being the all-time top scorer of the competition. Grateful for all the support along the way! Thank you!
I urge Black African men, whenever you see a dark-skinned Black African woman with her natural hair, do not pass her without commending her complexion and her hair. I do it intentionally. Because, we have an epidemic in the global Black family where our sisters do not believe they are beautiful unless they put hair from women of other races on their heads and use 'organic creams' to lighten their complexions to look European and Asian.
It is reaching disaster levels, and the self-hatred amongst our women is alarming to the point that some of them bleach their own babies. They are doing this because that is what they think we admire in a woman. We, as Black African males, have to change this perspective. Encourage your wives and daughters to wear their natural hair. Compliment them on their melanin-popping skin.
When a critical mass of us start doing this, there will be a change in the beauty habits of our women, and countries like Nigeria will stop spending $200 million importing human hair from Asia and another fortune on cancer-causing and liver and kidney-damaging so-called 'organic cream' and start spending money more productively on what goes into our heads, and not what goes on it.
