Let women speak up.
Let women represent.
Let women live peacefully.
Let women express themselves.
Let women control their bodies.
Let women live.
Nigeria's modern contraceptive prevalence rate sits at 17%, one of the lowest in Africa. In Northeastern Nigeria, the barriers are not just systemic. Women with implants are told they will not make heaven.
"No welfare programme exists in Nigeria to fund specialised services. The entire financial burden falls on parents — and the poorest families carry the heaviest weight."

@GtBank480135@gtbank Referring customers to a WhatsApp line that never responds isn’t customer service, it’s a dead end by design. ₦786 deducted. No breakdown. No explanation. No response. At this point, the silence feels intentional. Transparency shouldn’t be optional.
@gtbank please explain why I was debited ₦786.00 for SMS alerts in one month.
Customers are never told how many SMS were sent, how much each SMS costs, or shown a breakdown before deductions are made.
Banking should not feel like a guessing game.

@NhrcNigeria Enforce the Disability Act, and stop urging actors to comply with accessibility laws. It's a shame PWDs are still stranded five years after the moratorium on accessible public infrastructure lapsed.

Although both boys look forward to playing football with their mates everyday, that is often not possible because of the damage exposure to direct sunlight could do to their skins.

@OladunjoyeBles1 It is actually 'Anobo', a sophisticated paranormal science that perpetuate 'the more you look; the less you see' syndrome. You should have gone back to the character who paid you to call them out...
Today, I unveiled the Lagos State Women Economic Empowerment (WEE) Policy Roadmap, a milestone that reflects our firm commitment to gender equity and inclusive growth.
This roadmap is a practical plan built around the lived experiences of women across Lagos, from entrepreneurs and farmers to students and professionals. It focuses on removing the barriers that continue to limit women’s economic participation.
We engaged widely in building this policy, listening to voices from the public and private sectors, NGOs, women’s groups, and women living with disabilities. Their insights helped us shape a roadmap that is grounded, inclusive, and realistic.
From agriculture and entrepreneurship to education, STEM, and the labour market, we’re setting out clear actions to empower women with tools, training, finance, and opportunities to thrive. We will work across all sectors to bring this to life and ensure every woman in Lagos has the opportunity to reach her full potential.
When women thrive, Lagos thrives.
