@EmekaNwanonye@elonmusk Inferiority complex. Still subjudicating ur rights and resp. to the west!?
Respect is never given, it's demanded. You want our government to do free, fair election then demand it of them on every channel and at every opportunity you get. No one ain't coming to save you
@Osas_Wise This is where you and a lot of other people miss it
He did invest! Should he invest the monies more than he can track and handle at the time so people siphon a lot of the monies just because "there's money in the state," which you and i know people will take advantage of??
@risked_all@supasupa1000@dejiboss1@DavidHundeyin He's actually either both or the latter. I'd bet he's an influencer. Notice how random and new his profile is. The recent engagements when I check is this nonsense. He couldn't use his real account to defend the rubbish, hence a faceless account
@supasupa1000@DavidHundeyin Lmao. Can't afford what?
We can afford 3trn coastal road? Or d crude 4 loan refinery repair scam? PFIPC scam nko? And yet u wrote this? Hw stupid mst u be! Nigeria borrows money everyday on frivolous things bt it shouldn't spend it on the future of her citizens?
Are you alright??
@supasupa1000@DavidHundeyin So what if the govt subsidize WAEC? If the govt don't subsidize education for its people, what else should they subsidize?
What else in this Nigeria is the govt subsidizing gangan at this point?
An NYSC reform of this Magnitude should have had MANY public discussions with the Graduates. Nobody who has done NYsC will suggest increasing Camp stay to 6 weeks or outrightly changing the Uniform.
Thats my 1st sign this NYSC recommendation was Cooked Up by a proper Idiot. 🙄
This is one reason why Nigeria's public policies are always flawed.
With no disrespect to Dr. Joe himself, but policies shouldn't be based on individual ideas or what a group of elites considered progressive or "the brightest way of doing things".
It should be based on collected data, survey, democratic inputs and feedback from the populace. People sitting in an air conditioner filled room can't just assume what is best for the mass population in the country.
It's a monopolisation of abstract and pedestrian knowledge that no single human being or a group of politically privileged human beings can know.
On NYSC reforms, what's the data that show that the current system isn't working? And if any, where's the data that indicate that the new system will solve the identified problem? What research was carried? Where's the democratic input from the people who are currently in the system (the corp members)? Where's the feedback mechanism that made this new approach justifiable?
Without any of this, we just propose ideas that sound and look good on paper only for it to become adversely inapplicable to those who the ideas directly affected.
The same way I asked Mr. Oyedele then what data was driving his tax reform bill, and the proposed increment in VAT and CGT in the bill, only to have the host and the co-host kick me out of the space.
Our intellectual and political elites must be humble enough to know that not all ideas in their head are made of gold.
Else, we continue to fix what necessarily isn't broken.
@oju_rere@DrJoeAbah Those old guys just sit down somewhere in an air conditioned room and bring out policies just so they look like they're working. That's what I make of many policies put out there honestly
Whenever I see tweets about not allowing people without Accounting degree to write the ICAN exams, I just laugh. Almost always tempted to say my piece, but naa. 😂
The irony is always funny to me because:
1. Professional qualifications are meant to create a pathway into a profession, not reserve it for people who already studied it at university.
2. The exams are already the gatekeeper. If you can’t meet the standard, you simply won’t qualify. Your university degree doesn’t change that.
3. People switch careers all the time. Someone who studied Engineering, Economics, Law or Mathematics can decide years later to pursue accounting and become an excellent accountant. Why should that opportunity be taken away?
4. And let’s be realistic. Professional bodies have operating costs, staff to pay, offices to run, technology to maintain, exams to administer and members to serve. Exam fees and membership dues help fund those activities. Why would they deliberately reduce the number of candidates without any corresponding benefit?
The CFA Program doesn’t require a finance degree. ACCA doesn’t require an accounting degree. Both focus on whether you can meet the required standard. Yet somehow, every now and then, people suggest ICAN should go in the opposite direction.
I honestly just find the conversation amusing. 😂
@KayChingy@__Sleeem@favour75245 Nah. If anyone think that managing a big biz then the person is really stupid, and that biz is doom to fail. If a small biz, they mayn't need a finance expert at all. An MBA will suffice to manage that biz!
Anyway when ICAN cert exam 3x then they shouldn't complain oo
@Elvisbo@NationalPulseNG Then how the hell are people surviving in that city? Plus what the heck are Civil org not doing a class action suit against the govt and private organizations causing this??
