The Federal Government has approved the payment of verified outstanding obligations owed to more than 1,240 contractors across various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), providing much-needed relief to businesses and service providers affected by delayed payments.

The approval follows a comprehensive verification and reconciliation exercise undertaken by the Federal Ministry of Finance to validate pending claims and ensure that only legitimate obligations are settled.

According to a statement by Mary-Ann Duke, Senior Special Assistant on Communication and Press Secretary to the Minister of Finance, the initiative reflects the government's commitment to fiscal discipline, transparency, and the resolution of long-standing debts owed to contractors.
