On September 17, 1995, Johnny B. Badd faced Brian Pillman at WCW Fall Brawl. Brian and I had wrestled many times before, but we never really clicked. We weren’t friends, just two professionals doing our jobs.

That night changed everything.

We were given 30 minutes in the opening match, which was almost unheard of. Knowing how important that opportunity was, we went to the WCW Power Plant, worked through every detail, and actually wrote the match out together. For the first time, we were completely in sync.

That evening, Brian and I became friends, and it turned into one of the best matches I ever had.

The match was widely praised as a technical gem, with great pacing, athleticism, and intensity. I won with a crossbody pin, earning a shot at Sting for the U.S. Title.

What makes this even more special is that I recently found the original match layout on official WCW letterhead while going through my wrestling memorabilia. A powerful reminder of how preparation, trust, and one moment can change everything. Thank you Brian - RIP
