“Africa union or Ethiopian Union? The Joke Writes Itself.”

General Sibhat Ephrem putting into conext regarding Menelik’s ignorance regarding the Red Sea and the Suez Canal during his reign. While he is credited with laying the foundations of the Ethiopian empire and introducing schools and hospitals, Menelik remained preoccupied with conquering the underdeveloped Oromo hinterland and never turned his attention toward the Red Sea. Remarkably, until his death in 1916, he was unaware of the developments surrounding the Red Sea and Suez Canal.
Every Ethiopian leader—from Haile Selassie to Mengistu to Meles to Abiy—has treated Eritrea as a problem to be managed, a territory to be controlled, or a pawn to be sacrificed. This pattern is not accidental; it is structural.
For decades, Eritreans have endured war, sanctions, isolation and economic deprivation. Death, displacement and untold hardship have caused serious, life-altering problems.
Yet Eritreans have not broken. They have shown incredible patience, hope, resilience and adaptability while paying a very high price. That resilience is not a weakness to be exploited.
Eritreans believe in peaceful coexistence. Peace is a strategic asset, and it is Eritrea’s interest.
Abiy’s current adventure is another chapter in a pattern that must finally be put to rest. Eritrea does not need another temporary understanding with another Ethiopian government. It needs a future in which its sovereignty, territorial integrity and peace are permanent and non-negotiable.
The cycle has lasted long enough. It must end.

Eritrea: The Sovereign African Nation That No One Talks About
How much do you really know about Eritrea? And is what you think you know the truth, or what Western and Western-aligned media outlets have told you is the truth?
In this report for The Spearhead and the All-African People’s Revolutionary Party (A-APRP), @barrahart sheds light on this sovereign, North-East African nation that no one ever talks about — an African nation whose 30-year struggle for independence began this very month, September 1st, 1961.
The Spearhead is proud to call itself a sister organization of the A-APRP. Follow us to stay posted, and visit https://t.co/mGQZMwWiV6 to join the Revolution.

The US has finally removed the unilateral sanctions on Eritrea today.
Congratulations to the people and Government of #Eritrea for their steadfastness, resilience, and principled approach that made this development a reality.
The unilateral sanctions imposed on Eritrea by the Biden Administration in 2021 were unwarranted and caused undue damage on Eritrea. Now that they have been removed, we welcome this positive gesture and corrective measures taken by the Trump Administration.
Today’s move by the US should mark the beginning of a new chapter in the Eritrea-US relations, that we envision to be grounded in #sovereign respect, mutual interests, and the pursuit of a mutually beneficial #partnership. 🇪🇷🇺🇸

(GERMANY, by Baden-Württemberg) — The Federal Prosecutor's Office has arrested TWO suspected members of the Eritrean terrorist group "𝘽𝙧𝙞𝙜𝙖𝙙𝙚 𝙉'𝙃𝙖𝙢𝙚𝙙𝙪 𝙂𝙚𝙧𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙮" in Stuttgart and near Saarbrücken.
The charge: membership in a domestic terrorist organization. The men will now be brought before the investigating judge at the Federal Court of Justice in Karlsruhe.
According to the Federal Prosecutor's Office, the association's goal is to overthrow the government in Eritrea. It pursued this goal in Germany through violence at events held by supporters of the Eritrean government.
The association was reportedly responsible, among other things, for violent clashes at an Eritrean event in Stuttgart in 2023, where members of the association encountered supporters of the regime.
The two arrested men are alleged to have played a key role in establishing the structures of "Brigade N'Hamedu Germany" and in organizing its violent actions. One of them was reportedly the group's general secretary at one time, the other its first chairman.

WHY THE WEST TARGETS ERITREA
"They don't deal with the World Bank. They are not begging and there is no NGOs," said former Ethiopian diplomat and veteran communist Mohamed Hassan about Eritrea during an interview with Sovereign Media’s Ahmed Kaballo, in which the former broke down why Asmara became a prime target for Western economic and political quarantine following its independence in 1993.
Hassan revealed how the confrontation began immediately when the World Bank and IMF visited President Isaias Afwerki, demanding complete control over the country's national agenda.
However, when Asmara insisted upon writing its own national programme, western institutions labeled the leadership a "rebellion."
The hostility deepened due to Eritrea's commitment to radical self-reliance.
Hassan noted how Eritrea refuses to bow to debt traps or allow foreign NGOs to operate under the guise of civil society work (such as promoting micro-interests or carving up state sovereignty). As Hassan notes, if external actors want to help, they must support domestic national programmes.
In addition, Hassan cited Eritrea's national service (SAWA) to unite its diverse population across nine languages, Christians and Muslims alike.
Yet, he added, while nations like Isr*el, Turkey, and Greece are praised or ignored for mandatory military and national service, Eritrea faced intense vilification for doing the exact same.
Thus, Hassan argues, by refusing to submit to the "economic hitmen" of global finance and rejecting imperial oversight, Eritrea earned the wrath of Western powers determined to punish sovereign defiance in Africa.
