At this moment, as we get the chance to vote again in 2031, it is important to reflect on the subjects Members of Parliament were taught in school. This Bill is not about politics, it is Economics and Mathematics at its core.
We are dealing with balance of payments, foreign inflows, reserves and overall financial stability of the country.
These are not abstract ideas, they are core economic principles that determine whether a nation remains stable or vulnerable.
Even a person who is not formally educated, once you explain the implications of the Sovereignty Bill, would naturally say NO to it.
Yet we are seeing such proposals being supported by people with a high level of education, individuals expected to fully understand the economic consequences of such decisions.
REMEMBER
“A country without reserves is not sovereign’’ Governor of the Bank of Uganda, Michael Atingi-Ego

We are excited to join the Walk Against Malaria 2026 as partners to reaffirm Makerere University School of Public Health (MakSPH)’s role in advancing malaria control and elimination in Uganda and across Africa.
For decades, we have contributed through rigorous research, workforce development, and community-based interventions. We continue to generate evidence on malaria treatment and prevention while strengthening leadership through initiatives such as the African Leadership and Management Training for Impact in Malaria Eradication (ALAMIME), equipping professionals across high-burden countries with the skills to design and scale effective responses.
This work, spanning research, policy engagement, and implementation, supports national efforts to translate evidence into action and improve malaria outcomes.
We are joining this national campaign because malaria remains a leading cause of illness and death in Uganda, disproportionately affecting children and vulnerable communities. The Walk provides a platform to mobilise collective action, strengthen public awareness, and align partnerships toward a malaria-free Uganda.
We invite our staff, students, alumni, and partners to join us in this national effort, step forward, lend your voice, and be part of the movement to end malaria.
Proceeds from the Walk will support the construction of a modern Paediatric Hospital in Pader District in Northern Uganda, directly contributing to improved child survival in high-burden settings.
Step together for a malaria-free Uganda.

Dressed in purpose for a Uganda without malaria. On 26th July we're walking because every step drains a breeding site, breaks a transmission cycle, and brings us closer to zero. We walk for every mother who shouldn’t fear nightfall and every child who deserves tomorrow.

Honored to be part of the DW Akademie SparkChange 2025–26 winners.
This journey has been about more than an idea, it’s about using storytelling as a tool for impact, amplifying voices that are often unheard, and turning community challenges into solutions.
Grateful for the opportunity, the mentorship, and the belief in young innovators like us. This is just the beginning. The work continues, and so does the commitment to create meaningful change.
Congratulations to my fellow changemakers, let’s keep building, telling our stories and driving impact where it matters most.
