@cum_granosalis I had a few amazing professors there I love and still keep in touch with. However, most of them were outside my direct field of study. Those who were just didn’t show much interest in my work and the university admin, as you might know, is cracking down hard on the arts.

After transferring from UChicago to Emory and having spent a year in Atlanta, I can easily admit that the quality of education and support from mentors far surpass what I received at my former institution. Professors show up, demand excellence, and make sure you achieve it.

Now that I’ve accepted, I’m pleased to share that I was awarded the top scholarship for PhD students at international institutions by the Government of Canada. Amidst all the bad news, a little ray of hope.

The University of Granada currently has an exhibit of Quran manuscripts written during the Morisco period.

These texts were copied in secret after Islam was banned in Spain. Some of them exhibit Spanish written in the Arabic script, known as Aljamiado.
