@superamit Love my Tesla and FSD but the brain-dead auto-wipe is just stupid. My car costs six figures and auto-wipe is worse than the crappiest car I ever owned.
@Tryangle@elonmusk@Tesla@cybertruck Yeah, I bought one of the last X's for this reason. Was a compromise and lord was it expensive! :-)
We really should have gotten a minivan but I vowed to never drive anything else. So we sold our MY and M3 and bought a MX.
@youhavinthat@SamRo I'm assuming here both EV's are negative once you account for purchase price. They are lotteries after all. So the "right" answer is to play neither. :-)
@Djs157605@ZacksJerryRig@ChadMoran Obviously but the idea of one "pilot" driving and one monitoring has proven itself in aviation and is directly applicable to driving.
@ZacksJerryRig@ChadMoran IMO it's much better at driving than parking or in neighborhoods. Probably a "last mile" problem. It absolutely has seen and reacted to things before I have.
I'm a (private) pilot so the idea of letting the autopilot "fly" while I monitor it comes rather naturally.
@ChadMoran 14.3.3 while good seems to have some regressions compared to 14.2.X. At least with my 2026 MX. It seems to never see the speed ramps that 14.2.X did.
Almost as if 14.2.? used the front camera and 14.3.3 doesn't?
@AM_Pines@nickgalano It's still "in control" if by gravity and aerodynamics. Compared to everything else they do it's simple math, the system knew it would stay in the hazard zone.
@DJSnM Maybe I'm totally off base but I interpreted the red glow as on the shutdown rVac. Since it's not running it doesn't have coolant flowing through the extension and I figured it was just being heated by its sea level neighbor...
@srkntnyldz Not all heros wear capes... people that ICE EV chargers are the same as people that leave their car at the pump while they spend 30+ minutes in the store... totally inconsiderate.
"I think $130 is fair..."
I don't, states are already doing this to us via our tags and some of us barely drive. So I'm getting 10X or 100X the road tax that I would if I had a gas car. (I/we drive about 5,000 miles / year total).
Fair would be to either tax mileage but then you have to collect that information or tax tires as they are the most direct metric of road damage (tire wear).
