Chinese strategists discuss applications for unmanned systems in amphibious warfare. Bingqi Zhishi, 2.2026. Yes, I imagine that is quite a dynamic area of study. Note some of the pics are of US equipment or doctrine, but the last screenshot shows Chinese innovations. Will robotics favor the attacker or defender in this case (T-day)? I'd say it depends, but either advantage is at least plausible, particularly if we consider ISR as crucial to surprise attack.
“Operational-Level Maneuver: Why Tactical Success Alone Is Not Enough”
Maneuver is not dead, argues Lt. Col. Marc-Andre Walther (General Staff, DEU Army).
Why ❓
“Wars are decided not by isolated successes, but by the ability to link actions over time and space to impose systemic collapse on an adversary.”
This article explains what is required to make it viable on the contemporary battlefield.

Report to Congress on North Korea’s Nuclear Weapons and Missile Programs
Over the past decade, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK, or North Korea) has advanced its nuclear weapons and ballistic missile programs, which has raised the threat Pyongyang poses to the United States, U.S. allies in East Asia, and U.S. interests. In April 2026, a U.S. defense official testified that “North Korea’s nuclear forces are increasingly capable of targeting the U.S. Homeland, and its missile forces can strike South Korea and Japan with nuclear or conventional warheads.” The 2026 National Defense Strategy stated that these forces are “growing in size and sophistication, and they present a clear and present danger of nuclear attack on the American Homeland.”

@SRTMerlionsquad I can imagine they’re Commandos, but it would be very funny to imagine if they’re modelled after Guards lol
Just imagine the debacle in Pulau Tekong or if they’re operating in Lazarus on the weekends
In fact, NATO is closely following the blueprint @ArturKacprzyk and I laid out in this 2024 piece for @StimsonCenter - it looks like they are following our first two suggestions, on broadening DCA participation and establishing more DOB/UOB options. 2/4

Our story of Russia’s war on NATO in 2030 is the act of a desperate man trapped by his failure in Ukraine, the state of Russia’s economy, and his own inevitable mortality. Does he have one last chance to save his position & secure a legacy? Read it here: https://t.co/UKQvwK0gG5
An important new paper from @alxgraef on the role of Sergei Karaganov in changing Russia's nuclear doctrine.
Recall that as of 2022, Russia's 2020 nuclear doctrine had a "high threshold" for use which did not match Putin's violent nuclear rhetoric. 1/7

🧵“Taking Off the Blinders Regarding Special Forces Strategic Utility”
👤Hy Rothstein, PhD.
Much of the discussion about Special Forces modernization focuses on capabilities. Rothstein focuses on the institution.
His argument?
#SOF's greatest limitation is not what it can do, but how the U.S. national security system chooses to employ it.
A thread🪡.
