Today, we live under the tyranny of optimization. Every hobby must become a side hustle, every moment must be tracked by an app or captured and broadcasted for validation from strangers, and every hour must yield measurable results.
Be intentional and deliberate about preserving areas of your life that you refuse to either optimize or monetize. Read dense books purely for the joy of reading slowly, go for camping or hiking purely for the thrill and the experience, go for long walks with no destination in mind, or pick up an art you're not good at.
When you protect unoptimized spaces in your life, you assert your humanity over the industrial demand for constant output. Life is not an equation to be solved or an efficiency metric to be maximized; it is a landscape to be experienced. Sovereign inefficiency reclaims your right to exist without having to justify your existence through utility.
Africa is a very strange continent. A dollar billionaire dies in a plane crash and more than 24 hours later, no company has come out to mourn it's founder.
Folks, I can't believe what I'm telling you, but our sources are saying that not only are his mercies new, as forecasted, but that he also delights to show mercy.
I hope we never become too busy to notice ordinary blessings. A quiet morning. A working body. A peaceful house. A good meal. A familiar voice. Good sleep. Safe roads. Things we once prayed for without realizing it.
How can you NOT believe in God when octopuses dream and otters have a favorite rock they carry around in a little skin pocket and cows have best friends and bees are out there communicating the coordinates of flowers through dancing and they have regional dialects?
Cats are purring at frequencies associated with bone healing? Forests get absolutely incinerated and respond by growing flowers? Dolphins literally invent names for themselves and yell them across the ocean? Penguins are waddling around Antarctica looking for the perfect rock to give their partner?
CROWS REMEMBER YOUR FACE. THEY TELL OTHER CROWS ABOUT YOU. THEY TELL THEIR CHILDREN ABOUT YOU. YOU CAN HAVE GENERATIONAL BEEF WITH A BIRD. I NEED YOU TO UNDERSTAND THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THIS.
Goats have accents. Rats laugh when you tickle them. Elephants mourn their dead. Whales make songs and then OTHER WHALES LEARN THE SONG and suddenly everybody across the ocean is singing the new song.
Monarch butterflies are born knowing how to fly thousands of miles to a place they have never been.
Sea turtles hatch out of an egg, immediately sprint toward an ocean that they have never seen, disappear into it for like 3 decades and then somehow come back to the same beach they hatched on.
Birds can see colors that we humans can’t see. There are colors out there right now that we don’t even get to know about.
There are sea slugs that eat algae and use the chloroplast/chlorophyll and then are just like…photosynthesizing. And they’re super adorable.
There are mushrooms communicating underground. There are seeds sitting in the dirt for decades like “no actually I will wait. It’s fine.”
Squirrels plant trees because they forget where they put their snacks. Relatable.
A CATERPILLAR GOES INTO A LITTLE BAG THAT IT CREATES ITSELF AND DISSOLVES MOST OF ITS BODY INTO ORGANIC GOO AND REARRANGES ITSELF, GROWS WINGS AND THEN LEAVES. WHY IS THIS NOT MORE BEAUTIFULLY TERRIFYING TO PEOPLE??
And you’re telling me a tiny acorn knows how to become a huge tree? It just has a blueprint inside itself?
Your body started as ONE CELL.
ONE.
And that cell divided itself into a brain that can think about its own existence and eyes that can look at stars and hands that can hold somebody else’s hands and a heart that runs on electricity without you even asking it to?
The iron in our blood was made inside a star??
We are walking around on a wet rock covered in bioluminescent oceans and singing whales and laughing rats and birds holding lifelong grudges and flowers exploding out of fire and somehow we’re supposed to act like this is a normal place to live?
We’re supposed to act like this is all just a random, accidental sequence of events?
Good morning 5am club. New month, new inspiration, new focus, new goals, new adventures, new strength, new happiness, new season, new capacity, new targets, new peace, new energy, new growth, new affirmations, new joy, new you.🌺

A THREAD 🧵👇🏾
THIS MORNING, BEFORE YOU LEAVE YOUR HOME, DECLARE THESE SCRIPTURES OVER YOUR LIFE. 🙏🏽🔥
I declare that the Lord goes before me and makes every crooked path straight. I will not walk into confusion, danger, or destruction, because the presence of God goes with me.
📖 Isaiah 45:2 — “I will go before you and will level the mountains; I will break down gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron.”
I declare that no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against me in judgment shall be condemned.
📖 Isaiah 54:17
I declare that the Lord shall preserve my going out and my coming in, from this time forth, and even forevermore.
📖 Psalm 121:8
I declare that goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life. I shall not be at the wrong place at the wrong time. The Lord orders my steps and directs my path.
📖 Psalm 23:6 | Psalm 37:23
I declare that I dwell in the secret place of the Most High, and I abide under the shadow of the Almighty. No evil shall befall me, and no plague shall come near my dwelling.
📖 Psalm 91:1, 10
I declare that angels of the Lord are encamped around me because I fear Him. I am preserved from accidents, calamity, evil encounters, and every assignment of the enemy.
📖 Psalm 34:7
I declare that I have the mind of Christ. I will walk in wisdom, discernment, peace, and obedience today. I will not be led by fear, confusion, or the pressure of people.
📖 1 Corinthians 2:16 | James 1:5
Today, I am covered by the blood of Jesus. I am led by the Holy Spirit. I am preserved by the power of God. I am going out in peace and I shall return with a testimony.
In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen! 🔥🙏🏽
Now go out knowing that God is with you.
Samson could not live like everyone else.
John the Baptist could not live like everyone else.
Wine was not universally forbidden in Scripture, yet Samson was under a Nazarite consecration, and John the Baptist was specifically instructed not to drink wine or strong drink.
Why? Because their assignments came with specific consecrations.
Paul said:
«“All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient.”
— 1 Corinthians 6:12»
And again:
«“All things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.”
— 1 Corinthians 10:23»
Child of God, you must get this.
Just because something is permissible does not mean it is profitable for you in every season.
Just because another believer can do something does not mean God has given you permission to do the same thing.
There are things that may not be sinful in themselves, but the Holy Spirit may require you to lay them down because of your assignment.
There are relationships you may have to leave.
Places you may have to stop going.
Conversations you may have to walk away from.
Pleasures you may have to surrender.
Opportunities you may have to reject.
Not because those things are automatically sinful for everyone—but because God is dealing with you concerning your consecration.
Do not use another person's liberty to violate your own conviction.
You cannot copy someone else's consecration, because you do not carry their assignment.
Samson had his instructions.
John the Baptist had his instructions.
And there may be things God has instructed you about that He has not instructed another person about.
This is why you must know God for yourself.
When God calls you to a higher level of consecration, do not negotiate with Him because someone else is living differently.
What God is asking you to surrender may be the very thing He is using to prepare you for what He has called you to carry.
Not everything that is lawful is expedient. Not everything permissible is profitable. And not every liberty is meant for every season.
Child of God, guard your consecration.
I will never get over Hagar giving God the name El Roi — “The God Who Sees Me.”
There is something deeply prophetic about this encounter.
Hagar was in the wilderness. She had been mistreated, rejected and sent away. She was carrying pain that nobody seemed to understand.
But in the wilderness, God found her.
She discovered something that every child of God must never forget:
You can be forgotten by people and still be fully remembered by God.
You can be overlooked by men and still be seen by heaven.
You can cry in secret and still have a God who sees every tear.
You can go through a season where nobody understands what you are carrying, yet God knows every detail.
He sees the tears you wipe before anyone notices.
He sees the prayers you whisper when you don't even have the strength to pray loudly.
He sees the rejection.
He sees the disappointment.
He sees the waiting.
He sees the battles you don't talk about.
He sees the sacrifices nobody celebrates.
He sees you.
And what makes this even more beautiful is that God didn't merely see Hagar—He spoke to her, instructed her, and revealed Himself to her.
Sometimes the wilderness is not evidence that God has abandoned you.
Sometimes it becomes the place where you discover a dimension of God you had never known before.
Hagar entered the wilderness as a woman who had been rejected, but she came out knowing Him as El Roi.
And perhaps someone reading this needs to hear this today:
God has not lost sight of you.
The season may be confusing, but He sees you.
The tears may be many, but He sees you.
The waiting may be long, but He sees you.
The doors that closed may have left you wondering what God is doing, but He sees you.
And when you cannot understand His hand, trust His heart.
This is why I cannot boast in myself.
Who can truly say:
“I am nothing without Jesus”?
I am nothing without His grace.
Nothing without His mercy.
Nothing without His presence.
Nothing without the blood of Jesus.
Everything I have, everything I am becoming, and every testimony that will ever come from my life is because of Him.
Jesus, You are not just part of my life. You are my life.
El Roi, the God who sees me.
The God who sees you.
The God who sees every hidden tear.
And the God who is still writing the story.
DID YOU KNOW?
After Sarah passed on, Abraham married another woman called Keturah, and they had children together (Genesis 25). But something very striking stands out — those children never became part of the covenant story the way Isaac did.
Why?
Because God had already established a covenant with Abraham through Sarah. That covenant was not random, and it was not transferable based on effort, desire, or even results. It was ordained by God Himself.
This reveals something deep and powerful:
God is a God of covenants.
There are things in your life that will only be sustained by the covenant that birthed them.
You can have many opportunities, many connections, even many results — but only what is tied to your covenant with God carries divine backing, preservation, and generational impact.
Let me break it down for you:
If you rose through prayers — it is prayers that will sustain you.
If you rose through giving — it is giving that will sustain you.
If you rose through consecration — it is consecration that will keep you.
The mistake many people make is this:
They see someone sustained by a certain grace and they try to copy the method without understanding the covenant behind it.
You cannot copy covenants.
What works for one man may not work for another — not because God is partial, but because covenants are personal.
Isaac didn’t struggle to become the child of promise — he aligned with what God had already spoken.
Listen carefully:
Your sustainability in life is tied to your alignment with your covenant.
Some people abandon the very thing that lifted them.
God helped you when you were fasting and praying, now you are too busy to pray.
God raised you when you were committed to giving, now you feel like you’ve “arrived.”
God preserved you when you were humble and yielded, now pride has taken over.
And you’re wondering why things are shaking…
It’s because you have stepped outside the covenant that was carrying you.
Don’t do that.
Go back to your altar.
Go back to your place of encounter.
Go back to the voice that started your journey.
Stop trying to live another man’s spiritual life.
Find your own covenant with God.
Walk in it.
Guard it.
Stay consistent in it.
Because at the end of the day,
It is not activity that sustains a man…
It is covenant.
