The Forbes Border Post in Mutare handles 55% of all strategic cargo moving through the Port of Beira… And, currently, 1100 trucks pass through the border every day.
President @edmnangagwa’s govt is already UPGRADING the Forbes Border Post to a World Class border post… This is Zimbabwe’s gateway to the Indian Ocean, just 300 km away from the City of Beira in Mozambique.
ED2030 is for more world class infrastructure 🔥🔥🔥🔥
📌Zimbabwe’s gold industry continues to demonstrate strong economic potential, with Betterbrands recording 91.8 tonnes of gold deliveries to Fidelity Gold Refinery since 2021.
The company delivered 18.8 tonnes between January and September 2026, valued at more than US$1.9 billion. Betterbrands has credited policy reforms under the Second Republic with helping improve market access and create a more supportive environment for miners and investors.
The company’s investment in a gold refinery in Bulawayo also signals opportunities for domestic processing and value addition.
Under the leadership of His Excellency President Dr Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, such developments highlight the role of mining investment and local enterprise in advancing Zimbabwe’s economic growth and industrial development.

President @edmnangagwa, easily recognisable because of his trademark scarf, was among the leaders listening to President Putin’s presentation on Russia technological progress.
One thing that resonates with ED’s approach is Putin’s PRAGMATISM. Despite all the political friction with the United States, he emphasised the importance of working with them for the good of Russia & the world…
President Mnangagwa preaches being a FRIEND TO ALL, ENEMY TO NONE… the country’s interests should come first, not personal egos….
Deeply misleading post: of the R1.3 billion, only R10.6 million was spent on refugees and asylum seekers.
And the total of R1.3bn (almost all of which was spent on permanent residents), should be understood in the context of a budget for social assistance of just under R300bn.
The amount spent on permanent residents is less than 0.4% of the social assistance budget. The amount spent on refugees and asylum seekers is less than 0.004% of the social assistance budget.
Over 99.5% of the social grants budget is spent on citizens. Over 99.99% is spent on citizens and permanent residents.
But don't let facts get in the way.
It’s no longer guesswork or speculation, Zimbabwe’s economic trajectory is being mapped in real time & in public… Ordinary citizens, politicians, & businessfolks all participate in shaping the country’s economic policies & spending priorities.
President @edmnangagwa & the @TreasuryZW team led by @MthuliNcube01 have done exceptionally well in ensuring that the govt “lives within its mean…” … the days of runaway budget deficits are over, & the people can clearly see where public money is going.
The foundation is now there, Zimbabwe’s rise is unstoppable!
RUSSIA IDENTIFIES AFRICA AS KEY FOREIGN POLICY PRIORITY
Russia says Africa has become a key priority in its foreign policy as Moscow seeks to deepen partnerships across the continent.

Booming China-Zimbabwe trade tells a story of win-win partnership. 🇨🇳🤝🇿🇼
China Customs data shows bilateral trade surged to USD 5.01 billion in the first three quarters of 2026, marking a remarkable 51.6% year-on-year increase.
Zimbabwe’s tobacco exports to China reached USD 860 million, up 9.3%. In an exciting milestone, Zimbabwean blueberries entered the Chinese market for the first time this July.
China supports Zimbabwe in fully leveraging the zero-tariff policy to expand its exports. Deepened economic and trade cooperation continues to deliver shared prosperity for both nations.

Under President @edmnangagwa , stories of Zimbabwean students with student debt or struggling with accommodation in foreign universities are no longer there…
The Presidential Scholarship Program is now efficient, and the human capital being developed will pay dividends in the future… Some of the former students have now become part of the diaspora community sending BILLIONS OF DOLLARS to Zimbabwe….
Yesterday the President took time to engage Zimbabwean students studying in Russia, something that he always does on his foreign trips…
@CadreShangrila@BaShonaBaShona@enkudheni I think international trade is fine with the Foreign Ministry…. They need to make TRADE DEALS for Zimbabwe… Ambassadors should be negotiating for access to markets, not just sitting at Embassies
The Israeli elections are quite interesting… it’s almost always a coalition govt, outright majorities almost impossible… it works for Israel, because they put the country’s interests FIRST… @grok, what’s the most likely outcome of the Israeli elections held yesterday?
The problem with @BitiTendai is his obsession with being called “the best Finance Minister” … He took a $206 million to build the Plumtree - Mutare Highway, but it’s the money was paid back under @ChinamasaPA & @MthuliNcube01… He couldn’t fund any infrastructure from the tax revenue, NONE! Zimbabwe was literally a South African supermarket during the GNU, importing everything found on supermarket shelves… now, the supermarket shelves are full of Zimbabwean goods… Cement demand & Cement production in Zimbabwe is now at record highs…. Gold production is at record levels…. Zimbabwe now has gold reserves, almost 5 tonnes of gold reserves, it had NONE during his time as Finance Minister… Tobacco production has reached record highs, Diaspora Remittances are at record levels, Wheat production reached record levels in the past 5 years… ALL these things point to a MUCH BIGGER ECONOMY, u don’t need a microscope to see that…. Even govt revenue is projected to reach $10 billion this year, another record! During the GNU, the govt was collecting an average of $2.57 billion per year. It means @GGuvamatanga & Prof Ncube can now collect 4 times what Biti’s team was collecting….
It’s just people obsessed with his toxic behaviour who take him seriously, he is a confused and clueless man…
The story of Zimbabwe’s increased GDP is doesn’t need anyone to explain it, you just look around you and see all the economic activity happening… that’s the growth! The P in GDP is representing the PRODUCTION OF GOODS & SERVICES in the country…. If one can’t see that there is an increase in the production of minerals, agricultural products, tourism offerings etc, then the person might need eye surgery
PUTTING LIPSTICK ON A PIG: THE MYTH OF ZIMBABWE'S INFLATED GDP
By Tendai Biti, lawyer and former Finance minister
On the 21st of October 2026, Zim woke up to a blaring headline in The Herald: Zim is now Africa s 14th largest economy, with a projected GDP of US$65.92 billion.
Sadly, there were no celebrations.
Through the the wizardly of 4 rebasement exercises between 2018 & 2026 Zim has miraculously grown its economy from US$18 b to US$ 65 b .
The miracle starts in Oct 2018 when Zim rebased to 2012, immediately increasing nominal GDP by 40%, from US$18 billion to US$25.8 billion.
In July 2025, the regime egregiously rebased to US$44.4 billion from US$35.2 billion.
Later, to US$59.7 billion.
Rebasing is scientific and necessary when structure changes.
But Zim rebasing is a fraudulent political ritual done outside science and data.
A harmful, self-serving ego trip to justify the myth that we are on course to upper-middle-income by 2030.
This is why in July 2025 they claimed GNI per capita rose from US$2,893 to US$3,000.
In the mid-term review on 30 July 2026, the Minister claimed since NDS1, GNI per capita grew 84%, from US$1,737 to US$3,203.
It is sorcery to expand an economy by 84% through desk stop and ChatGtp without tangible growth on the ground.
The narrative of deception is reinforced by growth of 8.3% in 2025 and 5% in 2026.
But Zimbabwe is going through a bubble driven by fantastic gold and lithium prices.
The commodity anchored growth has seen massive micro growth in export earnings.
But like all bubbles it has also seen massive leakages arbitrage and rent behavior.
Sadly no concrete measures, such as investment in a Sovereign Wealth Fund have been taken to harvest the bubble.
But September 2026 World Bank Growth and Jobs Report shows growth is structurally shallow. Predominantly consumption-led, narrow sectoral base, total factor productivity declining, manufacturing share eroding.
It has failed to deliver transformation.
Four out five jobs in Zimbabwe are in the informal economy, 60% of our people live below the international poverty line of US$3 a day, surviving on “tsaona".
This is why to ordinary Zimbabweans, 14th largest remains a hollow myth.
Government data itself contradicts US$65bn.
Revenue is US$6.2bn. That means revenue collections are suddenly 9.5% of GDP.
Yet we remain most taxed in SADC — corporate tax, PAYE, VAT, IMTT.
For long, tax to GDP was 30%, 10 points above SADC average of 20%.
US$6.2bn fits GDP of US$32-36bn.
That is IMF's figure before 2018.
Our power consumption too is reflective.
Zimbabwe consumes 6.5 billion units of electricity per year. That is an average of 742 megawatts running 24 hours a day.
A US$65 billion economy needs at 5000 to 8000 MW in installed capacity .
Zim has installed capacity of 1900 MW with Kariba on 1,050MW but producing 250MW — Hwange on 920MW but averaging 400MW despite the fact that Hwange 7 & 8 are new plant.
The regime can’t expect anyone to believe that it has trebled the the size of the economy on the electricity output of 2014.
This is voodoo economics .
Undiluted witchcraft.
Reserves also betray the regime. Zim has two months import cover represented by US$2b according to the RBZ.
Compare this with Kenya, US$8b (US$115 b GDP) Ghana US$9b (US$75b GDP)
Zim's reserves are those of a US$32b economy dressed in oversized US$65b underwear.
Zim's import bill of US$8.5b bursts the myth.
Imports are 25% of GDP (Ghana& Kenya are US$20b).
Zim's imports are reflective of a US$32b economy.
But two thirds of these imports are food fuel & trinkets not capital goods .
But it is the state of Zim's infrastructure more than anything else that betrays that it is a small battered Republic.
It now takes 12 hours for a truck to drive from Harare to Chirundu & Bulawayo Vic Falls road now exists in memory only .
Never mind the state of rural roads, schools clinics & hospitals.
They are desperate to put lip stick on a pig .
It won’t work. It can’t work .
Is he wanted for any crime? Was he exiled by the govt or he voluntarily left the country? Was his passport cancelled??
Folks should stop creating fiction… President @edmnangagwa has lots of critics living in Zimbabwe freely… no Zimbabwean is banned from entering Zimbabwe, NOT EVEN ONE…
ED may not even know about his existence…. He doesn’t watch his social media content ….
WATCH | Apostle Chiwenga, who is known for his outspoken criticism of the Zimbabwean government, has appealed to the authorities to give him just one week to visit the graves of his late wife and parents before facing any punishment for his previous remarks against the government.
@maguranyanga@MviringiHosia@TembaMliswa He is playing with political idiots, he used to be a rational man… now the idiots he follows are always against everything even things that are good for them
It takes 48 hours to get a passport… only fools do that “jumping” you are talking about… and there is nothing to jump by the way, u just walk across… the problem is that South Africa doesn’t make it easy to get those papers u are talking about, that’s the cause of undocumented immigrants…
