🇺🇸 🇮🇱 The House voted 237-169 to strip federal funding from any university that boycotts Israel, including institutions in West Bank settlements the ICJ ruled illegal in 2024.

Read the mechanism behind this.

A school must certify annually that it permits cooperation with those institutions or lose Pell Grants and student loans, which for most universities is the difference between operating and closing.

Only two Republicans, @RepThomasMassie and Davidson, voted NO.

Thirty-three Democrats voted YES.

Now look at who lives on a campus.

Pew's data shows 75% of Americans aged 18 to 29 hold an unfavorable view of Israel, including 64% of young Republicans and 80% of the religiously unaffiliated under 50.

Among adults under 30, the Palestinian Authority now polls better than the Israeli government.

Congress just aimed a funding clause at the exact demographic that has moved furthest away, and threatened their financial aid to do it.

Here is what more Americans keep noticing. No other country gets this.

Universities divest from fossil fuels, from Sudan, from private prisons, and Congress stays silent.

Boycotts of China draw no legislation at all.

It's OK to support Israel's security and still find that strange.

When persuasion stops working, the honest move is a better argument or more healthy discourse, not a lien on a student's tuition.

THEY PLANTED BOMBS IN PALESTINIAN MARKETS BEFORE 1948

"The Jewish community in Palestine was trained as a military garrison. Settlers were also soldiers at night. Fence. Watchtower."

Then he gets to the part people pretend started later.

From 1937, the Irgun—Etzel—planted bombs in Palestinian markets. Not "clashes." Markets. Haifa. Jaffa. Jerusalem. The aim, he says, was to throw the cities off balance. A few bombs in the places where society actually lived.

The paper trail is not obscure:

• 6 July 1938, Haifa vegetable market: 21 killed, 61 wounded. A U.S. diplomatic cable described two powerful Jewish bombs thrown into the central Arab vegetable market.

• 26 July, same market: 53 killed, 45 wounded—figures later given to the British Parliament.

• 26 August, Jaffa vegetable market: about 21–24 killed.

But the Irgun didn't only target Palestinian civilians.

On 22 July 1946, operatives wheeled milk churns packed with explosives into the basement of the King David Hotel—the British Mandate's military and administrative headquarters in Jerusalem. At 12:37 p.m., the blast tore through the building's southwest wing.

91 people killed. 46 injured. Arabs, Jews, Britons—civilians and staff caught in the same collapse.

The Irgun called it a military target. The British called it terror.

Lehi, the smaller splinter, specialised in assassination—Lord Moyne in 1944, Count Bernadotte in 1948.

Two different kinds of violence. Same period. Same root.

The campaigns shifted. The paper trail didn't.

Bombings of Palestinian civilian markets were a documented Irgun tactic years before 1948. The King David Hotel made the same doctrine impossible to ignore.

one minute they're a people without a land for a land without a people, then Poles and Russians and Europeans are "indigenous" to West Asia "returning";

one minute they're the strongest force in the region ready and able tot take on anyone and expand their colony into other countries, next they're tired victims;

one minute showing off in the lingerie of women they've killed and playing with toys of children they mutilated, next minute they're victims of antisemitism.

to hell with these demons. "tired" is the least that should happen to genocidal colonizers. the world doesn't care. in fact, the world rejoices at whatever misfortune or "discomfort" befalls them.
