✨ Adoption Hall of Fame ✨ Retired @hhsgov employee June Dorn during her acceptance speech at the Adoption Hall of Fame said that she was 'blessed' to 'have found deep purpose' working in the field of child welfare and, specifically, adoption. We were blessed by her work!
✨ Adoption Hall of Fame ✨ Adoption Hall of Fame honoree Sen. Kevin Cramer during his acceptance speech last week said adoption is an issue that ‘largely unites’ people. We agree! Share this post if you do, too.
My adoption bill has been signed into law! It ensures that individuals who were adopted by NYers can obtain a NYS birth cert. This fixes a gap that prevented foreign-born adoptees from getting NY birth certificates if they were adopted after 18 or missed getting one before 18.
Adoption unites us because children are worth uniting for. It’s really an honor to receive @AdoptionCouncil’s Friend of Adoption Award. Being able to work on behalf of adoption, this cause that matters so much, is a great joy.

Right here in Nebraska, organizations like @NEChildrensHome (been doing this since 1893!) are doing incredible work. Nationally, groups like @NACKidsCan help kids with special needs and @CASEadoptprovides trauma-informed therapy. @AdoptionCouncil increases public awareness and understanding of adoption and promotes positive adoption language. We should fund more of these services so every child gets the help they need, regardless of family income.
Such an honor to be inducted into the Adoption Hall of Fame earlier this week. Thanks to @AdoptionCouncil for all their great work and to Kate Trambitskaya for her kind words. @AEI@IWF

Discussions about adoption should center on a child's best interest. @AdoptionCouncil
The relevant comparison is not an idealized and fictional birth-family scenario, but the likely trajectory without adoption—often prolonged instability or institutional care.
Wanted: A Healthier Public Conversation About #Adoption
To the extent critics push us toward better practices, they are allies. To the extent they condemn and work to prohibit #adoption itself, they risk harming the children who stand to benefit from being adopted the most. @AdoptionCouncil
A healthier public conversation about #adoption means rejecting the false dichotomy where it is either a fairy-tale ending or a social ill. @AdoptionCouncil
