What are Fabric apps? Are they really the future of Power BI / report development?
In this video I explain everything you need to know about Fabric apps and share thoughts on some big, difficult questions about using/adopting this in an organization.

Chamath on all important “prefill” and “decode.” in AI compute.
Prefill is compute-bound; massive parallel GPUs win, so Nvidia dominates as context grows.
Decode is memory-bandwidth bound as each next token depends on scanning what’s already generated

• Great example of how to get someone to buy in. His energy. His attention to detail. His encouragement.

ALERT: California “billionaire-backed” city facing backlash after city officials refused to meet with a company planning on building a $3.2 billion port and are now moving to Texas.
Saronic Technologies, an Austin-based defense contractor, was planning on building “Port Alpha,” an autonomous shipyard, in Solano County but has now switched to Brownsville, Texas.
Saronic, whose port is projected to bring in 10,000 jobs, sent executives to Solano, but state Senator Christopher Cabaldon and the Solano County Board of Supervisors refused to meet with the company.
Vacaville Mayor John Carli torched the officials, saying, “What a profound dereliction of duty. You don’t win 10,000 jobs by insulting the company bringing them. Solano County deserves leaders who fight to open doors, not lock them from the inside.”
California Forever, backed by Silicon Valley heavyweights and Jan Sramek, was blamed by Cabaldon because they “held the shipyard proposal hostage by tying it to their unpopular housing development proposal.”
Saronic is an interesting company. Keeping a close eye on this one. Very impressive what they are doing and growth ahead. Autonomous vessels 🛳️🚢🔱⚓️ #Saronic
Saronic CTO: The Massive Advantage of Unmanned Warships
@Jason:
“If these are autonomous ships, well, you can remove things. I don't know what percentage of a Corsair or a battleship are there to support humans on the ship, but I gotta think it's half the mass of it, is to keep humans on it. Am I directionally correct?”
@Saronic CTO Vib Altekar (@Vbob202):
“Half is a little excessive, but there is a significant percentage of the components, the cost, the labor that actually goes into catering to human beings on board.
I would say at a high level, you're really reducing the complexity of the entire product, right?
You don't need to worry about a separate electrical system for humans. You don't need to worry about, as we mentioned, doors, bathrooms, stairs, et cetera.
And then at the end of the day, you can actually start to end-to-end optimize a lot of different things. So even if you look at Corsair, for example, you know, if you were to buy a commercial 24 foot boat, it's unlikely to go 1000 nautical miles.
It's also unlikely to drive and have the control authority of the boat that we've built here. Because you don't have to worry about a person taking shock loads in the middle of the ocean.
So you can actually optimize across a bunch of different areas, naval architecture, the speed, range, and payload of the craft itself. And then again, reduce a lot of the complexity where you're removing subsystems that are meant for humans.”
