Catching up with #LGBTQwrimo!
🌱 Day 1: Introduce Yourself
I’m Adrian (he/him), INFJ, transguy, cat dad, and self-proclaimed nerd working on too many WIPs at once. I examine mental illness thoroughly in my work. Many of my characters are anti-heroes (and queer and poly)!
Broke 30k on #SoWeThought today!! There’s a chapter coming up that I absolutely can’t wait to write, so I’m forcing myself to write in order for the moment as incentive to get there. 👀
Awwww, I got the nice balloons from Twitter! Phew, I’ve been so busy lately that I haven’t been around much but I hope all you wonderful folks are doing well!
This means that there is no one size fits all approach to healing, but a general misunderstanding of mindfulness meditation now has people up in arms when instead we could be putting this energy toward sharing resources and uplifting those with similar experiences.
My observation from the current mental health discourse is that many people don’t understand what mindfulness meditation is. The point is not to clear your head. It’s to increase neuroplasticity and emotional regulation by observing existing thoughts and their waves of effect.
I hardly ever weigh in on Internet arguments like this, but this one is too important to ignore, and I want to talk about it.
Mental health shows up in my writing a lot and for good reason—I, like many, have more psychiatric diagnoses than I can count on one hand.
A trillion thanks to everyone for their support. If you missed the @queer_indie panel and would like to watch, check it out below 🔻
Happy #PRIDE2020 , everyone!

4. My favorite OC design is also incredibly difficult to choose, but I think I'm the fondest of Ophelia. Long, scarlet, curly hair. Fat. Victorian-inspired goth wardrobe + labcoat. She's everything to me and one of the most gorgeous ladies I've ever had the pleasure of writing.
3. I am so sorry but I don’t think there’s any way to choose a favorite ;-; my passions shift with time, but I am attached to many of my characters deeply enough to argue “favorite” status.
Happy Friday, #WritingCommunity! Do any of you publish web serials? If so, what's your favorite platform to post, read, and interact with your own readers?
Show me some of your favorites (by you or by others)!
