@bettersoma Yes! So stupid! Millions were spent to put a net on the Golden Gate bridge to prevent suicides but the city of SF will give you money and all the pipes and foil you need to overdose!
@jm_ziegler@Chief_FMitchell They work for the unions, not us.
I will curse them out when I see them on the streets but that is if they actually walk on the streets that we do
@Cadessbor@garrytan Which is why we need change and @lorenmtaylor is the best shot we have.
Barbara Lee is just the same, along with the same network that supported Sheng, Jean Quan, and their posse.
@SeanParkin01 It sure is perplexing to me.
The Department of Violence Prevention pays people to not shoot at other people or do stupid stuff.
By that logic, why not establish a department that helps small businesses recover from damages and losses?
Oakland mayoral candidate Barbara Lee purchased a home in the Oakland Hills for $1.48 million in 2010. Its current assessed value for tax purposes is $1.86 million, and its estimated market value is over $2 million. On the disclosure form she filed in January, she claimed the house’s fair market value is less than $1 million.
Her property is assessed as a single-family home with a “non-economic 2nd unit.” In fact, Barbara Lee has been renting out this unit. It was listed on public apartment rental sites, and the disclosure form indicates she received rental income from the property in 2024. That means it’s likely she has been paying less property tax than she should.
Oakland’s Rent Registry Ordinance requires owners of residential rental units to annually register their rent and tenancy information with the city. Her rental does not appear in the rental registries as of December 2023, May 2024, and August 2024. I am waiting on a records request to confirm whether she has ever registered the rental.
We should hold our elected officials to higher standards of honesty and compliance with the law.
