"Can I practise law with honesty? Is this really a noble profession? Why do 95% lawyers give negative feedback?" asked a young district court lawyer.

I have practised law with honesty for 41 years. My views are as under;

1. It is really hard to practise law as an honest lawyer.

2. Our honesty can be put in a circle of doubts even if we may be honest.

3. We make less money.

4. We feel pain every time when we compare ourselves with other successful lawyers.

5. We feel pain every time we see that a judge has passed a dishonest order in our case.

6. We need more resilience than others.

7. A time comes when we stop looking at what others are doing or saying. Thereafter, we focus more on things which are in our control. We learn what to ignore in legal profession.

8. We start looking at our honesty as our weakness as well as our strength.

It bored me. The teachers behaved like sergeants. I wanted to learn what I wanted to know, but they wanted me to learn for the exam. What I hated most was the competitive system there, and especially sports. Because of this, I wasn't worth anything, and several times they suggested I leave. This was a Catholic School in Munich. I felt that my thirst for knowledge was being strangled by my teachers; grades were their only measurement.

How can a teacher understand youth with such a system?
