{For Immediate Release}
CONDOLENCE MESSAGE FOLLOWING THE PASSING ON OF RT HON. RAILA AMOLO ODINGA, EGH, SECOND PRIME MINISTER OF THE REPUBLIC OF KENYA.
I received the devastating news of the death of the Second Prime Minister of the Republic of Kenya and my dear brother, Rt Hon Raila Amolo Odinga this morning, upon my arrival at Heathrow International Airport, London, United Kingdom where I am on a scheduled 10-day programme.
Rt Hon Odinga, fondly referred to for decades as ‘Baba’ by his ardent supporters, family and friends, and, albeit begrudging in admiration by his most-fiercest detractors, was more than an enigma. Baba was a force of nature that kept on going and going, despite and in spite of the hurdles put in front of him.
Baba was the longest suffering political detainee in Kenya. At the heart of the struggle for multipartyism, Raila’s body bore the scars of the slings and arrows, bullets and batons, that no man or woman should ever endure. Yet, at each point of release from the detention cells and torture chambers, he would raise his arms up to the heavens, his fist clenched in determination; resolved that the tears and painful scars he personally suffered, would yield to democracy and freedom for his beloved Kenya. That is why we call him the Champion of the Second Political Liberation.
Baba’s physical and mental struggle for Kenya - well documented nationally and internationally - earned him the title ‘Agwambo’.
In the years I interacted with Agwambo professionally in Kenya’s political space, I got to understand why he was referred to as that. From the Opposition benches to the Government side as Prime Minister, to August 27, 2010, the day our New Constitution was promulgated, my brother Raila, played an instrumental and integral role in devolving power from an imperial presidency to a people’s centred constitutional order. For that, we owe him our immense gratitude.
Since 2013, I had the singular privilege of working very closely and passionately with my brother, twice as his running mate both in CORD and NASA, as well as his partner in the Azimio La Umoja – One Kenya Coalition.
We learnt a lot from each other, and, shared a lot of pain together.
To Mama Ida, and the entire family, in particular Rosemary, Raila Junior and Winne, as much as I cannot imagine the shock and the heartbreak that you are currently going through, I want you to know that my family and I stand in solidarity with you. In this regard, I know that all Kenyans are praying for you.
Kenya has lost an exemplary leader, the President who won but was never declared and sworn into office. The loss of Rt Hon Raila Odinga is not only a loss to his family and country, but also to the entire African continent.
I will miss my brother and friend dearly.
I am therefore rearranging my schedule of engagements in the United Kingdom in honour of my fallen brother.
May God rest the soul of Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga in everlasting peace.
HE Dr Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka, EGH, SC, CS.
Tenth Vice President of the Republic of Kenya,
Wiper Patriotic Front (WPF) Party Leader.

In Kenya, adolescents continue to face criminal charges for engaging in consensual, non-coercive, non-exploitative sexual relations. @ReprorightsAFR is using the law to challenge this harmful practice.
*Why this matters:*
✅ Adolescents deserve protection, not punishment
✅ They need access to age-appropriate sexuality education
✅ We must uphold their right to health and dignity
✅ Criminalization fuels stigma, fear, and barriers to health care
👉 Follow @ReprorightsAFR for updates on why decriminalization matters and how it improves adolescents’ access to reproductive health services and information.

Today, 6th October 2025, the Court of Appeal of Kenya heard the consolidated Malindi Appeals E029 & E030 of 2022, marking the first substantive hearing by the Court of Appeal on abortion rights under Article 26(4) of the Constitution.
The Center, through our Counsel @Konyango_Martin@Adv_Pru appeared for the 1st and 2nd Respondents (PAK – a minor, and Salim Mohammed – a healthcare provider) to reaffirm that access to safe abortion is a constitutional right, and that criminalizing essential healthcare undermines women’s dignity, autonomy, and equality.
This case marks a pivotal step toward ending the arbitrary arrest and prosecution of women and healthcare providers seeking reproductive services.
As we await judgment on 27th March 2026, we continue to call for a full implementation of the Constitution as it relates to reproductive health services.

This encounter between Peter Wanyama and Nixon Sifuna confirms the lack of emotional intelligence, temperament and judicial wisdom by Nixon Sifuna. It is going to be exceedingly difficult for him to preside over matters. JSC can save him by assigning him lesser duties of going back to Moi to harass students.
Once again am asking: How come we have unable to resolve Salaries & Allowances issues for Doctors, Clinical Officers & Nurses? How is it possible that we pay a Doctor who had A* in High School & studied medicine for 6 Years Kshs. 40,000/=, yet we pay an MCA who had E* in High School Kshs. 400,000/=? A County has 60 MCAs earning total monthly salary of Kshs. 24,000,000/= …. And we pay MPs who barely scrapped with D* in High School Kshs. 1,200,000/= per month.
It is time we capped MPs salaries plus allowances at Kshs. 400,000/= per month. And we cap MCAs at Kshs. 150,000=. Then Doctor’s starting salary after leaving medical school be Kshs. 300,000/=. And ofcourse Graduate Teachers should also begin at Kshs. 150,000/=. And Police Constables be Kshs. 100,000/=.
Kenya mistreats its Doctors, Teachers & Police Officers. They lead miserable lives.
I beseech you my Lady, CJ, please, let Judges sit in Court and serve the People of Kenya. No duty is more official than for a Judge to sit and determine cases. You my Lady, CJ, the CRJ and DRs can handle administrative duties and all other none judicial “official duties.”

This building was constructed to last forever. A Courthouse is not a Toyota Land Cruiser to be replaced whenever another person assumes office of Chief Justice as it is the bad manners in Kenya.

Plainclothes police officers, lacking identification and service numbers, abducted @bonifacemwangi this morning following his call for Kenyans to honor those killed in the June and July protests.
Mwangi had encouraged Kenyans to wear fatigues with anti-Ruto slogans and carry a Kenyan flag as symbols of resistance at today’s StanChart marathon.
KHRC demands Mwangi’s unconditional release, the dropping of all charges, and assurance of his safety.
To our fellow Kenyans, use every opportunity—whether in social spaces or workplaces—to resist this regime and demand accountability for its injustices. Let your neighbors recognize the autocratic tendencies of @WilliamsRuto, who has neglected his duty to protect citizens and take responsibility for the tragic outcomes of his misgovernance.

Every woman deserves access to safe, respectful, and high-quality care throughout her pregnancy and childbirth. However, many women continue to face preventable complications that could be avoided with the right care and attention. To effectively reduce maternal mortality rates, it is crucial for governments, healthcare providers, and organisations to collaborate and address the gaps in health systems, enhance healthcare infrastructure, and promote community education on the importance of maternal health care. #CEBA #PHC #RMNCAH+N
The High Court has granted leave to the Law Society of Kenya to file an Application for Judicial Review to quash the directive of the @EduMinKenya requiring that all students be registered as beneficiaries of their parents under the SHIF before readmission to school. We note that the SHIF was declared unconstitutional by the High Court in Petition E473 of 2023, and the decision has not been varied. Consequently, any directive purporting to give effect to it in any manner is in contempt of court and cannot be condoned.
It is an irreconcilable act of impunity to threaten the education of our children to coerce Kenyans into subscribing to an illegal enterprise. The circular by the Ministry of Education is not only bad in law, it is insensitive, irrational, and inimical to the role of the ministry in ensuring the best standards of education for our children. We urge all school administrators @KenyaKessha@kepshaKE to desist from denying any student access to school on account of this illegal directive.

SCORK says that it does not have jurisdiction. But SCORK proceeds to rebuke lower courts for not following its clearly unreasoned and problematic Muruatetu 2 issued without jurisdiction.SCORK downs its tools but quickly finds energy to grab them again. After all, it is SUPREME.

Here's my take on William Ruto. He is a narcissist. Narcissists typically have no feelings, they lack empathy. Appealing to their humanity is therefor a waste of time. They like to control their victims. One way is to surround themselves with very mediocre, incompetent people they can manipulate and control. Meg Whitman knows he is a narcissist. The CIA probably briefed her on this (they have profiles on everyone) and so she knew he would be very easy to manipulate. Narcissists love flattery, they want to be adored. Ruto fell for Whitman's flattery. The US wanted a puppet African president and they found one in Ruto. They didn't care if he inflicts maximum pain on his own people, because the US government has never cared if people suffer as long as US interests are served. More on narcissism and its devastating impact in future posts.
