I really shouldn't get emotional about a new feature in a computer game. But having played football manager for years, this is genuinely massive for me as a lifelong wheelchair user. It really is fabulous that I be able to create myself authentically within the game. It's one of the few games that I can actually play because it's mainly mouse-based and doesn't require significant keyboard inputs, which as most of you know, are not good for my hands. So, while some people may see this as a little thing that they will never personally use, I am genuinely absolutely ecstatic that it's finally in and it's really positive for representation of disabled people, and demonstrating that football truly is for everyone.

I've just received an autism diagnosis!

I saw my GP about it 14 months ago and went down the 'Right to Choose' route because the waiting list for an adult autism assessment on the NHS is like seven years. RTC allows you to pick an alternative, NHS-approved independent provider for an autism assessment, and the NHS covers the costs. I selected Evolve Psychology last September and was told that the waiting time for an assessment would be 4-6 months. I actually waited 8 months for my assessment, and then waited another 3 months for the diagnosis.

I didn't have a big emotional reaction to being given the official diagnosis - maybe it'll hit me later. I've been very anxious these last couple of days since I learned that I'd find out the outcome of my assessment today.

My life has changed since I wrote the quoted tweet. The biggest change is that I moved out of my mum's house in May and have been living alone since then.
