One thing that was noticeable in such big event is that no-one knew or named us as Tajik, Pashtun, Hazara BUT, AFGHAN ! Our group’s unity and strength was seen under one name, one identity and one flag! 🇦🇫
Representing #Afghanistan in EU Parliament is an honor especially now when Afghan women have faced the most “sweeping rollbacks of their rights since retaking power in 2021, part of a series of escalating moves part of a series of escalating moves to enforce the group's heterodox conservatism. Girls and women are losing access to education, employment and public spaces as well as other basic freedoms.”
When we talk about freedom it means, freedom of choosing ones life, and decision making that every humankind is given the right by birth.
One thing that was noticeable in such big event is that no-one knew or named us as Tajik, Pashtun, Hazara BUT, AFGHAN ! Our group’s unity and strength was seen under one name, one identity and one flag! 🇦🇫
And this is the strongest message I can give today to all Afghans- you will not be recognized based on your ethnicity, but based on your national identity. The soon we know the importance our national identity the sooner we lead our way forward.
P.S. We also knew the importance of our flag so this picture is to all Afghans who wanted to see Afghan flag❤️🇦🇫❤️
Afghan–Australian ties have long been exemplary. Current news & happenings should not affect it, Great work by Khalid Amiri with this explainer—@dfat and @AusMissionAF should be amplifying this and sharing more content like it. @JulianHillMP@SenatorWong, @SBSNews
This isn’t just history… this is OUR story 🇦🇫❤️🇦🇺
The relationship between #Afghanistan & #Australia is more than diplomatic—it’s deeply human.
From Afghan cameleers in the 1800s to shared sacrifice in times of conflict.
We didn’t just arrive — we contributed, endured, and rose.
My explainer on a story of history, sacrifice & belonging 👇
Afghans built systems that outlived empires.
Sher Shah Suri, an Afghan Pashtun ruler, didn’t just mint a coin… he created the rupiya. That system still shapes currencies in India, Pakistan, Nepal, and Sri Lanka.
Afghan systems shaped the region.
This isn’t just history… this is OUR story 🇦🇫❤️🇦🇺

@KhalidAmiri01@Lisa_Singh@AIinstitute Khalid Amiri, you have a deep knowledge of Indo Pak history & have worked as a journalist in Afghanistan, I think you would be a great team add for @Lisa_Singh at Australia India Institute.
I was invited to these meetings from the start but chose not to join. Beyond any critique of the event, your conduct, as the child of a politician who fought for freedom and equality, stands against free expression and feels suppressive. @KoofiShuhra

Honoured to speak alongside inspiring community leaders today.
Every time I step up to the microphone, I’m reminded that leadership isn’t about position — it’s about responsibility. It’s about using our voices to represent our communities, advocate for those unheard, and build bridges across cultures.
Yalda Hakim stands as a powerful symbol of resilience, intelligence, and dignity. Born in Kabul, Afghanistan, and raised in Australia after arriving as a child refugee, she transformed hardship into strength and displacement into purpose. Her journey reflects courage in its purest form.
From the streets of Kabul to the global stage of international journalism, she has carried the voice of her people with grace and determination. Through her work with major networks such as the BBC and Sky News, she has not only informed the world but also elevated the stories of those too often unheard. She represents Afghan strength, Afghan intellect, and Afghan perseverance.
To call her a Queen of Afghanistan is not about royalty in title, but royalty in character. She leads with knowledge, speaks with authority, and stands with composure in the face of global events. She embodies the power of Afghan women who refuse to be defined by conflict, but instead define themselves through excellence.
Her life is a reminder that leadership is not always political. Sometimes it is moral. Sometimes it is intellectual. Sometimes it is the quiet but firm act of standing in truth.
Born in Kabul.
Raised in Australia.
Australian by nationality.
Afghan by heritage.
Yet beyond all labels, she is a leader, a voice, and an inspiration.
Thank you for being a voice for everyone Yalda Jan! Love from the occupied Country of Baluchistan.

A proud moment seeing Afghans from all ethnicities come together to celebrate our shared culture and identity 🇦🇫❤️
This year’s Afghan Culture Day in Melbourne was a huge success—honouring the legacy of Afghan cameleers with camel rides, alongside our food, music, and vibrant traditions.
We were honoured to hear from the Hon. @JulianHillMP and the Hon. Gabrielle Williams MP.
A powerful reminder of Australia and Victoria’s rich multicultural fabric, where diversity strengthens our communities.
