Over the last few days, I have travelled through Dhaka, Feni, Lakshmipur, Noakhali, Cumilla, Sherpur and Jamalpur.

Everywhere I went, I heard tens of thousands of people. Men and women spoke with one voice. They said clearly we want change. We want a new Bangladesh.

So today, I want to ask my political opponents a simple question. Are you losing the campaign? Do you fear losing this election, as even some of your own candidates have publicly admitted? Is that why violence was used to create fear? If so, let me be clear, it has failed. The people responded with courage. They said, “We do not fear you.”

Was intimidation used to silence voices and discourage participation? That too has failed. The people answered firmly “Your threats will not stop us.”

And when disinformation and false stories were spread against me, the people once again saw through it. They said, “We know who is behind this.”

The people of Bangladesh are awake and determined. Our Gen Z cannot be fooled anymore.

I say this respectfully, come let us compete honestly.

Come forward with your ideas. Present your policies and your manifesto, if you have one.

Give the people hope, not fear.
Win the hearts and minds of the people, not through violence or deception.

On the 12th, let the people of Bangladesh cast their ballots freely. And when they do, let all of us respect their choice.

I believe women must be visible in leadership, not as symbols but as decision-makers. Structured pathways in politics and local governance strengthen democracy and accountability.

Our manifesto has been clear from day one. We want women active and respected in education, healthcare, administration, entrepreneurship and public service. This means uninterrupted education for girls, safe campuses, zero tolerance for harassment, women-centred healthcare, equal pay, safe workplaces, childcare support and skills for dignified work.

These are not new positions. I set them out months ago and reaffirmed them at my Policy Summit on 20 January 2026. Judge me by my record and manifesto, not false narratives. On 3 February, I will launch the full manifesto. A Bangladesh that respects women is a Bangladesh that moves forward.
