Excited to be able to share our detailed review from the Savage lab @MRL_Cam. Lipodystrophy: A paradigm for understanding the consequences of "overloading" adipose tissue | Physiological Reviews https://t.co/2lt9mp7Zca
@preetiblogs@vfsglobalcare Cleary their system is ridden with too many glitches! Makes us go through the entire process of adding applicants, otp verification and then either the appointment slot disappears or seems to be available but get an error to select another date for payment 😒
We believe that Schengen country consulates in the United Kingdom have a vital role and responsibility to ensure that individuals have fair access to appointment slots for UK Residents. Please read this #openletter#SchengenVisa#VisaAppointment#TLSContact#VFSGlobal
@88nicost @EdMochi @SwissEmbassyUK@FranceintheUK@UkWatchdog I got a quote from a London based agent for 450£ pp to get a schengen visa appointment. How are agents securing vfs appointments from backend??
@vfsglobalcare @EdMochi All schengen visa applications ask for hotel and flight bookings. And conferences also have registration fees which are paid months in advance. All of this money will go to waste as we aren’t getting an appointment forget about getting the visa.
@svaradarajan Also why no conversation in Indian media about what vaccination will be offered as a booster by GOI, esp following Dr. Jameel’s comments about potential inefficacy of covisheild booster in covisheild double vaxed? Debates on calling it precaution vs booster dose-NOT important
Nice to see this is now online https://t.co/GCV8ysAtEt Over the past ~30 years, the function of the central melanocortin system in receiving and responding to signals of nutritional state, including leptin and insulin, has progressively been unveiled/
I am delighted to share this paper on the role of MC3R in regulating growth, lean mass & pubertal timing in response to nutritional signals. Our findings may explain why, with rising obesity rates, humans are getting taller and entering puberty earlier

A @nejm Quick Take video summarising a recent study on how obesity-associated GNAS mutations disrupt MC4R signalling from @Farooqi_Lab.
Great if you’re too busy to read the whole paper, or would like a quick summary before diving in

It is strange to read that “obesity researchers are blindly following a failed paradigm” when, for the first time, effective and safe anti obesity drugs are emerging and being licensed. With the mechanism of those drugs being entirely based on that paradigm. I’m truly baffled.
@stuartcantrill Might be some confused immigrant like me who saw Brits hacking away at their 🍔 🍕 with a knife & fork, so think that’s generally expected 😄
The effect of thousands of rare protein-coding genetic variants on disease is elucidated in a study of data from over 280,000 UK Biobank participants that is published in @Nature. The research may lead to the development of new therapeutic agents. https://t.co/UQQDzCp37V
