I have spoken to a senior @CAF_Online official concerning Arkan’s case. The person declines to be named.
“We are in conversation with @FIFAcom over this matter.”
I asked the official whether CAF will issue a statement of support for Arkan. “We are engaging in quiet diplomacy. Shouting in public could make things a lot worse,” the person said.
“This is a FIFA matter, not a CAF affair. We have no blame in this matter.”
Will the “quiet diplomacy” result in Arkan’s return to the tournament? The CAF official could not answer my question.
#Africa, there you have it…

🚨 Somali referee Omar Artan was questioned for 11 hours before being denied entry.
🗣️ “I am just a referee trying to live my biggest dream: going to the World Cup, I am really, really disappointed.
I had the correct documents and the correct visa.
I think they have a problem with my country.” 🇸🇴
🚨 L’arbitre somalien Omar Artan 🇸🇴, a été INTERROGÉ PENDANT 11 HEURES À SON ARRIVÉE SUR LE SOL AMÉRICAIN avant de se faire recaler. 😳
« Je suis juste un arbitre essayant de vivre son plus grand rêve, d'aller à la Coupe du Monde. 😔
Je suis vraiment, vraiment déçu. J'avais les bons papiers et le bon visa. 😩
Je pense qu'ils ont un problème avec mon pays. » 😤

🚨 WORST @FIFAcom PRESIDENT OF ALL TIME: INFANTINO SILENT AS US HUMILIATES AFRICA
Gianni Infantino selected Omar Abdulkadir Artan — Africa's top referee and first Somali at a World Cup — then watched US authorities deny him entry at the border despite diplomatic passport and approved visa. Turned back like trash. No reason. No fight.
Where is your voice, Infantino?
You preach "global football" and "unity" while selling out African officials to US border politics. This isn't leadership — it's cowardice and betrayal of the game.
You are proving every day why you are the worst FIFA president in history. Africa will not forget this disgrace.
Stand up or step down.
