@luiscalleo Yes. 3 months ago. The overture still hints at greatness, but it's a misdirection because the rest is, although ambitious, nevertheless underwhelming. In the 45 years since I first played it I've never thought of it other than a worthy, but weakly produced, experiment.
@AitchDrysdale He does things which make you sit up. Then he does things which make you sit down again. Like not get to marking contests in the best position. (Or drops chest marks.)
@ibeennnthinking It's not just the Dees who have blown picks on a key forwards. I reckon picking key forwards is the toughest gig in drafting. Often a young bloke in U18s is highly rated because he is bigger and more advanced.
@ahleach@stone1_matthew Yeah, those losses stick in my guts. We don't have much collateral to burn, and blown results have a habit of, of not snowballing, then costing us. (Like our two losses to three-win wooden spooner Carlton in 2024.)
I hope Kingers is not making the same mistake as Goody and over-committing to defence at the expense of players ahead of the footy. Geelong were brilliant at swarming opponents then finding players free up forward. Hoping Kingo gets there.
