#Climate impacts are rising across #Africa, yet the resources meant to support those on the frontlines rarely reach them in a reliable or meaningful way. Our new position paper, developed by the Civil Society Working Group on Climate Change, examines why this gap persists and what African states should push for.
It focuses on 3️⃣ priorities:
1️⃣ #ClimateReparations:
High-emitting countries have legal duties to support those already experiencing climate harm.
2️⃣ #HumanRights in #ClimateFinance:
Communities living with climate impacts should have a real say in how funds are designed and used.
3️⃣ Gender responsive finance:
Women’s groups receive only a tiny share of climate funding even though they carry much of the burden of climate stress.
These issues will define whether climate finance reaches the people who need it most.

We're now on the session on #ClimateFinance, examining how African civil society can shape fair and effective funding for #ClimateAction!
Speakers Andrew Letting of @TIKenya, Dr. Amanda Mugadza of @MidlandsState, and @KalariEmmanuel1 of @YouthBridge2 discuss how #climate finance must be transparent, accessible, and responsive to the needs of vulnerable communities.
They emphasize translating climate finance commitments into real outcomes, advancing #ClimateReparations and #gender #justice, and ensuring funds reach those most affected.
@That_Agronomist of @Ag4Humanity moderates.
