.@ThuliMadonsela3 we second VAT-exemption for chicken! Stats SA data LCS 2014/15 showed that chicken is the food item on which poor South Africans spend most of their food budget: 13% of their total food expenditure to be precise.

Indeed. Also helping South Africans living in poverty by eliminating the VAT on essential foods particularly proteins like chicken would make a difference.

In 2017 #EU countries flooded Ghana with chicken exports at an average landed price for frozen cuts of 0.70 euro per kg while average EU production costs are in excess of 1.50 Euro per kg. By the EU's own definition this is dumping !!
