I’m thrilled to share that I'm starting a new position as an Assistant Professor and Precision Ag Extension Specialist for Vegetables and Specialty crops with the University of Georgia. I'm blessed to get to work with great people wherever I go! @UGAExtension
The use of Robots in Agriculture is exponentially growing worldwide. We are testing some of these technologies simulating different outputs, crop spacing, and crop height. With the results we will be able to provide some guidance on the best settings to use for each crop.
Had the amazing opportunity to share some info about Digital Ag and the role of #AI for Disease and Pest identification at the GA Entomological Society Annual Meeting during the morning, and shared insights on #Onion transplanting quality effects and future prospects (afternoon).
Hi “X” Friends! We are looking for insights on a new grant proposal related to sustainability and labor savings technologies. If you are interested in these two topics, please take the survey below. That will help us a lot!

Thanks for your time.
Last Friday my students and I received the visit of the director of the 🇧🇷 Institute of Semiarid Research.
Dr. Tejo and another scientist were interested in the #PrecisionAg Research, especially #Irrigation Technolgies we use. Thanks @AgTechLuan for the connections.
@AuburnCSES
@BrendaOrtiz_PA@AuburnCSES Glad to be there! Thanks for hosting us. It was really good to see what you guys are doing towards a more sustainable future.
🚨 Call for papers!!!
We are receiving submissions for the International Workshop on Hyperspectral and Multispectral Imaging on Agriculture and Geo Applications that will be held during the IEEE International Conference on Image Processing I'm Abu Dabhi. https://t.co/xCqKYynity
Spent the past few days testing and calibrating some of the new equipment for the #2024 Research. Will work from fruit and veg mechanization, robotics, and spraying technologies up quality and yield prediction using UAVs. Unfortunately had a cloudy time for one of the flights.
Yesterday we kicked off a really important project for our team. We were evaluating the use of a conventional plug-root vegetable transplanter adapted for bare-root onion transplanting, and the impacts that the transplanting quality can cause on onion quality and yield.
Last week I had the opportunity to share some information about new technologies for specialty crops production at the SE Regional Fruit and Vegetable Conference. Great meeting full of relevant and current topics.

Attending #FIRA Ag Robotics this week gathering insights from all over the world on Ag Robotics and Autonomy. I’m amazed on how much these technologies have been enhanced over the years. Will for sure bring some applications to Georgia in my backpack. @UGAExtension
