Bozell running to Fox News to deliver economic ultimatums on TV like a corporate raider on a media tour.💀
When Washington says South Africa needs to "remove barriers" for American capital, what they actually mean is scrapping democratic transformation policies like B-BBEE, dismantling local ownership requirements, and abandoning constitutional redress. They don't want a trade partner... they want a deregulation playground where foreign capital operates completely unbothered by historical context or domestic law.
If the US Mission actually cared about bilateral investment, they would negotiate through standard, professional diplomatic channels. Complaining to conservative cable news anchors about Pretoria’s domestic policies is not economic strategy... it’s theatrical posturing designed to feed domestic political talking points back home and give local lobby groups ammunition.
US corporations invest in South Africa because we have the most advanced financial infrastructure, mineral reserves, and legal protection on the continent, not out of imperial charity. Threatening to hold back capital unless a sovereign democracy rewrites its domestic statutes to suit foreign investors isn't "doing business." It’s economic blackmail.
South Africa is open for investment, but we are not putting our Constitution on the clearance rack to appease foreign embassies or Fox News hits.
I just interviewed the DDG at home affairs on #TheCMShow about the much talked about Asylum applications at refugee reception centres. He confirmed that the department will NO LONGER turn someone away at the door simply because they entered the country illegally. He admits that this is going to overwhelm the department because some illegal immigrants may take advantage and go queue and claim to be asylum seekers. This will cause an administration burden.

Playing the victim on social media while acting like a viceroy... South Africa is not a satellite state that takes public lectures from a U.S. ambassador on a megaphone power trip.
If Washington wants a relationship, try respecting our courts, our constitution, and basic diplomatic channels instead of throwing tantrums online.
When people set you up, they use the things that they know you like doing...they entice and lure you with those things because they know THAT'S what you respond to...that's what you do! NOBODY can make you pile an 18 year old with alcohol and rape her whilst she is passed out. Nobody can make you ask a 16 year old for nudes and videos late at night and have sexually explicit talk with her. Fuck off with this acceptance and justification of rape culture..it is part of the problem- not just men who do it but those who justify and normalize it.

Let’s talk about Adv. Nel’s question: “Why did a 16-year-old have naked pictures of herself?”
In legal and psychological terms, this is a classic smokescreen: shift the focus away from the conduct of the adult under scrutiny and onto the behaviour of the minor.
The Victim-Blaming Pivot
Instead of focusing on how an adult allegedly acquired, possessed or distributed explicit images of a teenager, the defence shifts attention to the teenager’s camera roll... because apparently the urgent legal issue is now her digital-storage habits.
Erasing the Power Dynamic
Grooming and exploitation often involve significant age and authority imbalances. By focusing on what the 16-year-old was doing, the defence risks creating the illusion of equal agency between a teenager and a much older adult. Her behaviour does not automatically answer questions about his alleged conduct.
The “Passive Bystander” Sleight of Hand
It is also a familiar defence tactic: portray the powerful adult as a passive recipient of circumstances... as though the images simply materialised on his phone and he had no agency over what he requested, retained or forwarded.
“Oops, look what magically appeared on my phone.” 😭
The question seemed less designed to illuminate the adult’s alleged conduct than to invite moral judgment of the teenager. And once everyone starts debating what a 16-year-old “should” or “shouldn’t” have been doing, attention conveniently drifts away from the far more serious questions facing the adult.
Dr Nthabiseng Moleko and others like her are the reason South Africa will be exactly where it is today, 50 years from now.
They’re always recycling the same tinkering-at-the

BREAKING: Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee is halting the state’s remaining execution for 2026 and ordering a third-party review after officials fail to execute death row inmate Christa Pike.
Pike received two syringes of lethal injection Wednesday night but remained alive and could be heard snoring, according to her attorneys and media witnesses. Her legal team filed an emergency motion to stop the execution as the situation unfolded.
Pike was later transported to an off-site medical facility.
Lee says the state has a responsibility to ensure executions are carried out legally, constitutionally, and effectively.
