Sony Music Publishing and Warner Chappell Music have accused Anthropic of large-scale copyright infringement in the training of its @claudeai models. The publishers are seeking up to $150,000 for each musical work used without authorization, plus $25,000 for each instance where copyright management data was allegedly removed or altered.

The lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. In addition to Anthropic, the defendants include its CEO, @DarioAmodei , and co-founder BenjaminMann (@8enmann ).
