But trauma IS relevant when you use delayed reporting, inconsistent statements or behavior to dismiss an allegation. Victims don’t respond to trauma in one predictable way.

I feel like we are raising girls to have to be on their guard constantly, but raising boys to be world class a-holes! I’m a girl Mom and I have a heavy responsibility to teach my daughter to always choose the bear because of these heinous acts that can occur. 3/4

I’m a girl mom. And yes, I will teach my daughters to be aware of their surroundings and protect themselves.

But I am SO DAMN TIRED of living in a world where girls are taught from childhood to calculate risk simply because they are girls.

If you see something, SAY something.
If your friend is crossing a line, STOP HIM.
Don’t laugh along.
Don’t look the other way.
