Start choosing to be happy. We can’t get away from negative circumstances. Having faith won't keep you from trouble, bad breaks, and people doing you wrong. But those things don’t have to take your joy. You’re in control of your happiness.
God will take what should have stopped you and use it to promote you. He'll cause you to defy the odds. What looked impossible is where He will show you His power.
The only person that can stop you is you. If you let your mistakes define you, if you wear the labels people stick on you, if you believe the lies from the accuser, then that will keep you from what God has called you to do.
Don’t look to people; look to God. You don’t need everyone to celebrate you. People can get jealous. People can be competitive, moody. You don’t need their approval; you have Almighty God’s approval.
People don’t mind watching those they help to win, the problem start happening when those they helped start doing better than them, all of a sudden they start telling the story of how they help you, because low key they feel you should still be under them. That’s witchcraft 🧙♀️
You’re not just living unto yourself. You’re affecting those who will come after you, and you’re honoring those who have gone before you. They will benefit. They will receive a reward because you took new ground. You ran your race with purpose.
As you run your race, you’re not just running for yourself; you’re running for those who came before you: your grandmother, your great-grandfather. You honor them by running with purpose, running with excellence.
Happiness doesn’t automatically happen. It’s a choice we have to make. You can’t wait to see what kind of day it’s going to be; you have to decide what kind of day it’s going to be.
God has a message for you in seasons of struggle: “You are more than the sum of your dark days. I bought you, and I have a destiny for you. Now, with my help, let’s get back in the game.”
Proverbs 15:15 says, “For the happy heart, life is a continual feast.” Can I encourage you to feast on the fact that God is for you, not against you? Because you’re full of Christ Jesus, He’s helping you through whatever you’re going through.
