Governor Dauda Lawal has received the National Social Safety Nets Coordinating Office (NASSCO) Award of Excellence for promoting inclusive governance and effective social protection delivery in Zamfara State.

The award was presented during a stakeholder engagement with local government chairmen held in Abuja. Governor Lawal praised the Federal Government, World Bank, and development partners for supporting reforms aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s social protection system.

He emphasized that social protection has become a key tool for governance, security, poverty reduction, and community resilience, especially in conflict-affected states like Zamfara. The governor also highlighted the importance of transparency, data-driven interventions, local government participation, and the integration of NIN into the National Social Register to improve accountability and efficiency.

Governor Lawal further stressed that inclusive development should go beyond cash support to include education, healthcare, agriculture, skills acquisition, financial inclusion, and sustainable livelihoods for vulnerable groups. 🙂

NASSCO Coordinator, Dr. Funmi Olotu, said the award recognizes the governor’s commitment to improving social welfare and inclusive governance in Zamfara.
