The city of Denver is about to let a 75 year old blind woman back on the street. We rented a hotel room for her for 4 nights and the city is only able to offer her a shelter bed which is not safe given her situation. The city is not even offering to get her a hotel.
How is it possible that you can walk down the street and see dozens of vacant buildings and brand new luxury apartment buildings and you cannot help your most vulnerable citizens? How can you say the city of Denver can’t afford a hotel room?
If you’d like to drop off donations you can DM us or bring supplies to 14th and Bannock between 4-7PM on Mondays.
We will gladly take all donations but things that help most in summer are:
-Water
-Water bottles
-Ice
-Coolers
Thanks for helping our neighbors stay safe and cool!
It’s going to be hot and sunny this week and the lack of city resources makes things more difficult on our unhoused neighbors. If you’d like to help provide cold water and ice to people, you can donate here: https://t.co/y19kpzxC2K
We couldn’t support our community without you!
We will keep buying supplies with any money that comes in so if you want to help, our donation links are below. And as always, we will be at 14th and Bannock tomorrow at 4PM. Thank you everyone and stay warm!

One more day of extreme cold until it warms up a little, but we wanted to thank everyone who has donated money, gear or time to help make sure all our neighbors are warm and comfortable. It means a lot that when the city leaves people out in the cold, the people step up to help.
WASH Report Release RESCHEDULED for NEXT Wednesday 9/27 3pm
We had to move this release back a week.
Learn the experiences and priorities of almost 200 houseless people about water and bathroom access and the realities of water and bathrooms in Denver.
Water Bathrooms for all!
This about sums up the awesomeness of MutualAidMonday Spa Night. We had massage therapy and sometimes goat therapy at the same time! Thank you to all of our volunteers!
100% of these deaths would have been prevented inside an overdose prevention center.
Denver is averaging 12 fatal public overdoses every month in 2023.
That’s 72 people dead since @COSenDem and @COHouseDem voted against allowing Denver to authorize and pilot its own OPC.
Bars, bus stations and parks. Parking lots and alleys. A liquor store. A church.
These are the Denver public spaces where people have overdosed and died. As public overdoses rise here, bystanders are increasingly thrust into the role of life savers.

But, we need EVERYONE to make the event a success! Bring a dish to share in our community meal, donate used clothing, shoes, blankets, or toiletries. This is what community looks like! 💜
Join us on Monday, September 18th from 4-7 PM at 14th & Bannock Street for our 3rd annual Spa Night! We will have haircuts, massage, cupping therapy, sound therapy, manicures, grounding yoga, facials, makeovers, lashes, accudetox, & foot scrubs for the unhoused community.
This morning I watched Sgt Oniell antagonize a homeless man, threaten him, unlawfully detain him and then leave his belongings sitting on the sidewalk to be stolen while he took him to jail. Way to escalate a calm situation @DenverPolice
Cruelty IS the point.
If you're a victim of DV in Denver right now, and you're getting the shit kicked out of you by your abuser, just know this city doesn't GAF.
No options, no one to help, nowhere to go. Just die by the hands of your abuser. That's the city's answer today. @MikeJohnstonCO
