@teachinginrm30 i think the general consensus should be a "yes" as it is all about your "why". @simonsinek has lots of material about "finding your why". as an educator i hope that my colleagues "whys" are student based and as long as we have students we should still have our "why"

@Maire_from_NJ I think there is a way to make this a positive depending on how the admin manage it. There are plenty of teachers new to the online education tools and programs, this could be a way to help them and offer them assistance. There will be admin that F it up tho!

@Remarsh76 @sheathescholar @Larryferlazzo Absolutely! It is not something we can generalize to all students or schools. Every school should assess SS ability to access education at home and make decisions based on that. If one student is left behind because they are less privileged, the school has failed all students.

Lots of different situations and schools going through this, each one should approach this differently. Sounds like we have very different experiences, which makes sense.

@BearStMichael @sheathescholar @Larryferlazzo fair. and situations are different at different schools. The school I teach at requires all students have a device and they all have WiFi access at home. I understand this isn't the case everywhere and where it isn't the case, grades should not be given. definitely agree there.

Day 1 of using @Newsela as a tool in #digitallearning and 100 of 100 students managed to do what was asked. This comes down to a few things: student motivation, easy to navigate site, interesting article and ability to sync with #GoogleClassroom I am very happy and appreciative!
