For Those Who Remain
You call yourselves the cowards, the unlovely ones,
but cowards do not stay to learn the names,
do not keep the faces lit against the dark
a regime would have swallow them whole.
The brave ones fell. You loved them. You love them still
each time you say the words they died for saying:
woman, life, the thing they could not break in you,
freedom, freedom, freedom.
To go on living is not the lesser courage.
Someone must carry the grief like a lamp.
Someone must be the throat the silenced speak through,
must outlast the ones who thought fear was forever.
Iran will mourn her children. Let her also see
that the mourning itself is a way of standing,
and you who remain are not the cowards at all.
You are the ones who remember out loud.
βYou use the term βcar guardsβ as an insult. In reality, many of these individuals were pushed into such roles by harmful government policies. Despite that, they remain hardworking and resilient. Interestingly, countries like the USA would welcome people with that same work ethic as productive members of society.β
@PAPALONENE@RomanCabanac He was a great hero, and deserve his own town build from scratch by black excellence. He does not deserve a backward Arikaner town. Its a absolute disgrace. Do better for your heroes.
@RepGregStanton If that is her establishment in the background, questions should be asked about how a undocumented illegal could secure funding and open an expensive business like that?
