Professionals shouldn’t be doing “engagement” in neighborhoods they’re afraid to walk in, in my humble opinion. Reducing engagement to social media blasts and cdc outreach ensures the inequities persist.
The attention on this map is elsewhere; but the combining of North and South Collinwood into one ward is a momentous, + potentially fraught, political shift. It's tricky to even discuss; but it's germane to a lot of different conversations about Cleveland's future.

🚨Over the weekend Council leadership quietly proposed Ord. 1035-2023 for a vote TODAY. It would allow the City to spend public taxpayer dollars to run a private vote no campaign against participatory budgeting. It's a pure power grab that undermines public trust. I'm appalled.
Now look.. We may disagree on participatory budgeting, but this policy is bad for Cleveland's future and the health of our democracy… like this just ain’t it..
