Dear @FirstYork I'm on the number 9 bus that departed monk stray at 10.16am heading into town and your bus driver is a class act and a top bloke, doing all he can to help passengers travel and have the best experience in the city - he deserves a big thank you/well done.
@IndieGoDelivery @DorindaDorinda@AndyDAgorne@LittleEcoT@flickhwilliams @pedalestrian @CityofYork @mccyork @YorkGreens @MartinHiggitt @yorklibdems@activetraveleng @HullRoadWard Across the city that still need to be replaced despite being raised with officers very frequently over several years. I'll update you as soon as I can and lobby for this to be prioritized as you are correct, it would be a much needed link in an otherwise good route 👍 (2/2)
@IndieGoDelivery @DorindaDorinda@AndyDAgorne@LittleEcoT@flickhwilliams @pedalestrian @CityofYork @mccyork @YorkGreens @MartinHiggitt @yorklibdems@activetraveleng @HullRoadWard The crossing has been sent into council officers who are collating a city wide list of bicycle crossings that aren't up to current legislation. I hope I'll have a reply for you as to when it's timetabled for replacement soon, unfortunately as you know it's one of many (1/2)
York has stripped Andrew Windsor of his Freedom of the City of York. The first to ever have their freedom removed. We now need to see his title of 'Duke' removed; this will require Parliament to legislate.
After years of cycling everywhere I'm taking a break from commuting by bike at the moment because I've got sick of the danger and stress of travelling just a mile or two in York by bike. If I drove, I'd probably be driving as a substitute right now.
No one wants to make people cycle if they can't or don't want to - but at the moment in York cycling just isn't a viable option for the many who DO want to - too much traffic, not enough safe space for cyclists.
Labour Leader @KilbanePete says:
“This is tantamount to using Covid as a threat, casting further doubt over [Lib Dem leader] Cllr Aspden’s fitness to lead this great city.”

Are the administration so worried that they'd lose the power
a) to vote in on their own major projects on planning
b) to stack committees in their own favour to avoid scrutiny and mark their own homework
-that they would really have turned up and risked infecting others? 😷
Covid-infected councillors ‘threatened to attend full council’ if meeting wasn’t taken online – it has now been postponed #YorkNews

Absolutely astonishing. My wife is in a vulnerable category and I simply can’t fathom the mindset of anyone that would willingly endanger others in this way. https://t.co/va7CWz9vUE @theyorkmix
Thanks to @yorkcyclecampaign and others, promising movement on cycle barriers - let us know any cycle barriers in Hull Road Ward that should be removed in order to ensure access that complies with the Equality Act and LTN1/20 @Michael4HullRd @georgenorman20
@GSwinburn@CityofYork I've just asked that you're all notified if you haven't been already. We've just received confirmation although of course the reason given is less than accurate!!
Well we've just hit the joining time for @CityofYork Full council meeting. Councillors still haven't been informed officially that is has been called off despite the decision having been made at least an hour ago. The LM has had time to write a tidy little press release though.
Afraid you'll lose a vote? Just threaten to attend a meeting while infectious with Covid-19 😷😷😷, endangering council staff and members of the public, to force the meeting to take place online - ultra vires! https://t.co/srLO23ijjx
It’s day 3 of our strikes. I want to extend a huge thank you to the MPs showing UCU political support, all those who’ve donated to our fighting fund, and pay tribute to all our members resigning as external examiners and undertaking strike action.
Keep it up💪🏻

Do we need mandatory training on the Equality Act for all councillors? Such a fundamental misunderstanding of our legal duties to make adjustments for disabled people - to remove *barriers* not give *privileges*. So much time and effort has been wasted trying to explain this...
I am genuinely taken aback by this BTL comment from @yorklibdems Cllr Tony Fisher on @yorkpress. After *everything* that’s been said & done, he *still* thinks Blue Badge Access to York city centre is/was a privilege. 🤦🏻♂️🤬
@YorkDRF @YorkAccessible @YorkDisability @YorkAccessHub1
Bragging about 15 of 47 cllrs being female? That's not a level of women in political roles to be proud of.
Women(+ other minorites) are woefully underrepresented on the Council.
If you're from an underrepresented group and have questions about being a cllr feel free to DM me

This #InternationalWomensDay why not follow @PayGapApp to see them respond to proud tweets by organisations about how wonderful they are. The response is simply the gender pay gap (from https://t.co/WiZiAd8Gxj data) and usually refutes all the posturing…
@JonnyPolitics@yorklibdems@yorkpress@YorkDRF @YorkAccessible @YorkDisability @YorkAccessHub1 It’s so distressing to see this attitude displayed so brazenly after everything we have done to try to make people understand. So many disabled people spent so many hours trying to explain. The impact of this is awful #TakingTheDis#ClosedToUs
