Pissing me off how all commentators ignorantly say “Spain need to win to avoid Messi’s Argentina”
We might have a little surprise for you tomorrow night if Ragnick’s press is oiled & ready to be unleashed
Messi is 39 in 7 days and he’s still a net-positive on the pitch. He’s still the best player in the world, on the ball
He still terrifies players. He’s still agile, still makes the right decisions, still technically absurd
Forget goals, he still makes you want to get the ball to him whenever possible, while touching 40
Pls do not ever compare anyone to him
Men from Rosario. Thousands of kilometres away from Argentina, in a narrow strip of land between the Western Ghats and the Arabian Sea, a small state in southern India shares an unlikely bond with these two men, who in their own way have defined two of Kerala's deepest passions: Football and rebellion.
Of course, not everyone who admires Messi admires Che. Not everyone who carries Che's image follows football. But both have become part of Kerala's visual and cultural landscape in ways that few global figures have.
But this connection between Kerala and Argentina has always fascinated me. The same was the case with Maradona.
DMK leader and former TN CM @mkstalin condemns ED raids against Pinarayi Vijayan:
"Such actions once again raise serious concerns over the growing pattern of central agencies being weaponised against Opposition leaders. Incidentally, this also exposes the hollowness of the reckless allegations made by some Congress leaders who repeatedly questioned why Pinarayi Vijayan had “not yet been targeted by the BJP”! "
I don’t think the senior leadership of the Congress has fully understood the depth of their victory in Kerala. If they believe this mandate was purely a vote for Congress, they are making a serious mistake. This election was driven more by disappointment against the incumbent government.
What we’ve seen over the past week is mocking the mandate given by the people. And if the leadership thinks this can be brushed aside with “this is how Congress has always functioned since the days of Indira Gandhi, Karunakaran or Antony,” they are misreading the moment completely.
Times have changed. Political climate has changed. Public patience has changed. People are watching everything in real time now and they are far less forgiving.
Safe and sensible decision by the Left to extend outside support. No one knows what kind of administration TVK will provide, and making that support conditional on the continuation of pro-welfare measures is important.
TVK party leader must be allowed to assume office without delay!
@tncpim urges the Governor of Tamil Nadu!
In the recently concluded Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly election, the people of Tamil Nadu did not deliver a verdict that gave any single party or alliance an absolute majority to form the government.
In this situation, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), with 108 MLAs, has emerged as the single largest party. Accordingly, only the TVK leader, Mr. C. Joseph Vijay, has staked claim to form the government.
The BJP has been following an approach of acting against the Constitution through Governors and using them to fulfill its political objectives. As a continuation of this, the Governor of Tamil Nadu has been delaying and refusing to invite him to assume office. This is unacceptable.
Therefore, since no one else has staked claim to form the government, the Communist Party of India (Marxist) strongly urges the Governor of Tamil Nadu to immediately invite the leader of the victorious single largest party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam leader Mr. C. Joseph Vijay, to assume office.

All said and done, #Stalin exited with grace and dignity. On May 4, after it was clear #DMK lost the election, he visited the party office to meet and thank party workers. A visibly tired and emotional Stalin was seen leaving the office that evening. On May 5th, he visited Kolathur, the constituency that defeated him, met the public and thanked them for their support. Crowds surrounded him with slogans and tears, making the visit almost look like a victory rally.
Shudder to imagine the situation of street vendors across Bengaluru. This is the reality of the street vendor profession. Instead of mindless targeting them, learn to appreciate their service to society and this honest, tough way to earn a livelihood.
Man Utd hit 81 points in 2017/18. Highest since Fergie retired.
(for reference, they won the PL with 80 points in 2010/11)
That’s coincidentally the only season United have had a physically able, classy passer at DM (Matic). Who played the most outfield for Utd that szn (35)
The mental aspect of losing winning core is so underrated. City are going through it, Liverpool now. You can't fill that void just buying talent and spending money. Sir Alex only PL manager to successfully make that transition between 2 cores and keep winning titles.
