That means if you could cover 100km in 10 liter fuel than with e10, now you can cover only 80km in that 10 ltr fuel. For covering 20km more you need extra fuel…

Due to ethanol blending, vehicles' average mileage has decreased, leading to higher petrol consumption. One has to pay roughly 10% extra for petrol to cover the same distance. Plus, sugar prices have skyrocketed due to excess ethanol production.

आरक्षण पर हमला इसलिए हो रहा है क्योंकि जिन लोगों ने इसका लाभ उठाया है, उनमें से ज्यादातर डरपोक और समाज-विरोधी तत्व हैं। लाभ उठाकर वे समाज से लापता हो गए हैं। इसलिए उनमें से बहुत कम लोग आरक्षण के समर्थन में बोलते हैं। दूसरी ओर, आरक्षण का समर्थन करने वालों में बड़ी संख्या उन लोगों की है, जो स्वयं इसका लाभ नहीं उठा रहे, फिर भी आरक्षण के लिए लड़ रहे हैं।

आरक्षण का लाभ उठा चुके बहुत कम लोग सोशल मीडिया पर सक्रिय हैं। वे डरते हैं, समाज से उन्हें कुछ लेना-देना नहीं है और आरक्षण की पात्रता के लिए अपने बच्चों की पात्रता बढ़ाने में व्यस्त हैं, ताकि चुपचाप आरक्षण लिया जा सके। यही कारण है कि आरक्षण पर हमला हो रहा है।

But in 2021–22 alone, India earned around ₹40,000 crore in foreign exchange from sugar exports.

India was also the world’s 2nd-largest sugar exporter, exporting 109.8 lakh tonnes that year.

India’s crude import dependence went from 77.6% in 2013–14 to 88.2% in 2024–25, despite ethanol blending rising from 1.5% to 20%.

• In 2026, India is set to import sugar for the first time in a decade.

• Sugar prices have risen by 40% in just two months.

• Rice prices are also hitting a one-year high.

The government cannot refuse to roll back E20 simply because some businessmen have invested in ethanol factories. That is a joke.

E10 will also require ethanol.

India is going to import 1 million tonnes of raw sugar - that too duty-free.
This itself is an import of Rs. 4,000 Crores + duty loss of another Rs. 4,000 Crore.

Dear Mr. @nitin_gadkari,

Before promising to punish and blacklist contractors for defective DPRs, perhaps you should ask …who approved those DPRs, who supervised the work, who certified it, and who kept paying for it?

If poor DPRs are responsible for lakhs of accidents and deaths, simply blacklisting contractors after the damage is done is hardly a solution.

Why wasn’t a performance audit done right from DPR preparation to approval, supervision and final certification?

Otherwise, it becomes the usual Indian system … Mistake, followed by an audit, blame the contractor, blacklist him, float a new tender, and repeat the entire process all over again.

Bhai Saahab, citizens need accountability before the accident, not speeches after it.

सारा गन्ना गाड़ियों में डाल दिया तो चीनी की शॉर्टेज हो गई। चीनी पहले निर्यात करते थे अब उसे बचाए हुए फॉरेक्स से आयात करेंगे। गाड़ियों की माइलेज के भी घोड़े खुल गए हैं। एथनॉल सब्सिडी देकर भी पेट्रोल से महंगा है और गाड़ियों का जो नुक़सान है वो अलग। अब गन्ना चीनी की तरफ़ कर देंगे और मक्का चावल से एथनॉल बनायेंगे तो अगले साल वो महंगा जो जायेगा। आज़ाद भारत मी सबसे चूतिया योजना गिनाई जायेंगी तो ये एथनॉल बकचोदी टॉप पर आएगी।

E-20 is surely backfiring on government and one of the worst way to save forex (that's what they sold to us) as the equation is not favorable for a consumer.

I will repeat again if it's for nation then all sugar & ethanol mills should be forced to become NGO and donate profits for nation's progress.

If no rollback of ethanol this is surely gonna hurt the votes now !

Make ethanol from sugar. Mix it with petrol. Reduce your mileage, thereby increase your fuel bill. Now there’s not enough sugar, so import it- and sugar is now more expensive than it was.
