திருச்சி நாடாளுமன்றத் தொகுதி மக்களின் நீண்டகால கோரிக்கையான திருச்சி – திருப்பதி இடையேயான நேரடி பகல் நேர இரயில் சேவையை பெற்றுத்தர வேண்டும் என ஒன்றிய இரயில்வே அமைச்சகத்திடம் தொடர்ந்து வலியுறுத்தி வந்தேன். இதன் தொடர்ச்சியாக, இக்கோரிக்கைக்கு ஒன்றிய இரயில்வே அமைச்சகம் ஒப்புதல் அளித்திருப்பதை வரவேற்கிறேன்.

திருச்சியிலிருந்து திருப்பதிக்கு நேரடி பகல் நேர இரயில் சேவை வேண்டும் என்பது திருச்சி மட்டுமின்றி, மத்திய தமிழ்நாட்டைச் சேர்ந்த பொதுமக்களின் நீண்டகால கோரிக்கையாகும். இதுதொடர்பாக, மாண்புமிகு ஒன்றிய இரயில்வே அமைச்சர் திரு. அஸ்வினி வைஷ்ணவ் அவர்களையும், இரயில்வே உயர் அதிகாரிகளையும் நேரில் சந்தித்து, பல்வேறு நிலைகளில் தொடர்ந்து கோரிக்கை கடிதங்கள் வழங்கி வலியுறுத்தியிருந்தேன்.

இதன் தொடர்ச்சியாக, குண்டூர் – திருப்பதி இடையே ஏற்கனவே இயக்கப்பட்டு வரும் 17261/17262 இரயில்களை திருச்சிராப்பள்ளி வரை நீட்டிப்பதற்க��ன அறிவிப்பு 08.05.2026 அன்று வெளியிடப்பட்டது. இதன் மூலம் திருச்சிராப்பள்ளி – திருப்பதி – குண்டூர் இடையே நேரடி பகல் நேர இரயில் இணைப்பு ஏற்படுத்துவதற்கான நடவடிக்கை மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்டது.

ஆனால், இந்த அறிவிப்பு வெளியாகி ஐந்து மாதங்கள் கடந்துள்ள நிலையிலும், நீட்டிக்கப்பட்ட இரயில் சேவை எந்தத் தேதியில் தொடங்கும், அதன் விரிவான இயக்க அட்டவணை என்ன என்பது இதுவரை தெரிவிக்கப்படவில்லை.

எனவே, 17261/17262 இரயில்களின் திருச்சிராப்பள்ளி – திருப்பதி – குண்டூர் நீட்டிக்கப்பட்ட சேவை தொடங்கும் தேதி, புறப்படும் மற்றும் சென்றடையும் நேரங்கள், வழித்தடத்தில் அமையும் ந���றுத்தங்கள் உள்ளிட்ட முழுமையான இயக்க அட்டவணையை உடனடியாக வெளியிட வேண்டும் என தெற்கு இரயில்வே பொது மேலாளர் மற்றும் தெற்கு மத்திய இரயில்வே பொது மேலாளர் ஆகியோருக்கு கடிதம் மூலம் கேட்டுக்கொண்டுள்ளேன்.

இந்த இரயில் சேவை நடைமுறைக்கு வருவதன் மூலம் திருப்பதி செல்லும் பக்தர்கள், மாணவர்கள், வணிகர்கள் மட்டுமின்றி, திருச்சி உள்ளிட்ட மத்திய தமிழ்நாடு மாவட்டங்களைச் சேர்ந்த பொதுமக்களு��் பெரிதும் பயனடைவார்கள்.

Rs.220 crore has been allocated for the Thanjavur-Pattukottai and Mannargudi-Pattukottai new line projects👏👏.

With the G.O. and field unit already in place, we can expect land acquisition to begin shortly🙏.

I got to watch Jananayagan.

I do want to share about the one thing that was most important to me and the cause that I stand for - safety for children from sexual abuse and swift action (I still wish coz what else do we have except hope?)

A star the stature of @actorvijay and now the Honble CM of Tamilnadu speaking about child sexual abuse in the film was crucial; Important.

Huge thanks to the director H Vinoth and to the Honble CM for that scene.

High time the Viluppuram–Tiruchchirappalli Chord Line gets the attention it deserves

A major spine railway corridor having with just 2 shuttle services a day is concerning where it is just treated as a passing route instead of Addressing its own demands. Chordline is being hindered from serving Potential stations like Srirangam, Pichandarkovil, Lalgudi, Pullambadi, Dalmiapuram, Sendurai, Mathur, Pennadam, Ulundurpettai, Parikkal & Tiruvennainallur Road End up suffering from lack of Shuttle srervics.

Introduce Shuttle trains from:-
1. Tiruchi jn to Cuddalore port jn
2. Vriddachalam jn to Puducherry
3. Vriddachalam jn to Tiruchi jn
4. Vriddachalam jn to Salem jn
5. Tiruchi jn to Villupuram jn
6. Tiruchi to Chinnasalem jn
7. An Express train From Tiruchi jn to Salem jn via Vriddachalam jn that would connect Ariyalur dt with Major part of Salem District.

Demand is clear. Chordline Requires better utilisation of the line by providing more dedicated trains.
