Just to save Dharmendra Pradhan’s chair, the entire BJP has rushed to his defence.

After Nadda Ji, now Narendra Modi has emerged with another sermon on what students and the Opposition should accept.

On the very streets leading to Parliament – where Mr. Modi arrived after 8 hours of beauty sleep on 20th July morning – the youth of this country were brutally beaten. Their skulls were broken open. They were tear-gassed, fired upon with pellets, given electric shocks. Women were assaulted, their clothes torn, and batons were thrust into their private parts.

Only after all this did Maharaja Narendra Damodardas Modi awaken to announce fast-track courts and "swift punishment" for those behind paper leaks.

It is not enough.

The youth of this country are not asking for Mr. Modi's performative mercy. They are demanding justice, accountability, and the fulfilment of their demands.

Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation would be a good place to start.
