#RejectEIA2020

Protect the commitment towards the Principles of Natural Justice.

[SFI @SFI_CEC]

The Draft EIA 2020 is part of a wider policy approach of the present government to appease corporate interests and meet their demands in the name of encouraging investment and facilitating “ease of doing business.”

Ascertain the ambit of popular discussions, opinion and appraisal of the implications of the proposed amendments.

[SFI @SFI_CEC]

Most objectionable is the fact that in the entire document the concerns of adivasis who are going to be the most affected community due to the dilution of environment regulations do not form any part of the notification.
#rejectEIA2020

[Ajith T B @AjithTB8]

Expand the avenues for public discussion and opinion entangled with the fate of development projects to be evaluated under EIA.

#rejectEIA2020

[SFI @SFI_CEC]

India ranked an extremely low 168 out of 180 countries in Yale University’s Global Environment Performance Index a drop of 2.9 points. The current EIA doesn't promise anything to correct that course.
#rejectEIA2020

[V P Sanu @VP_Sanu]

The draft EIA 2020 is a declaration of liberalizing the environmental regulations for profit greedy corporates to run slaughter mining & polluting industries.

The govt should facilitate "sustainable developmental goals" not "corporate loot".

#RejectEIA2020

[Ajith T B @AjithTB8]

Withdraw all the proposed amendments introduced with the Draft EIA Notification.
