@pbassanga@AkaiAngeline@CrystalAsige It's saddening that our national anthem can be sang twice in the international podium,2 hold medals...yet mot accreditation. Sports ministry, disability welfare associations you need to stand up and get counted. I beg the question,is a gold win by a person with disability lesser?
Kenyan skater Kevin Kiarie Ruhiu is all alone in Benin , he won two medals for Kenya at the International Challenge Cotonou Speed and Inline Freestyle Skating Championship.
@KenyanSays Congratulations 👏👏👏 @Kelvvkiarie on your hard earned victory , the ministry @moyasa_ke should realise how you put Kenya on the global map. Let's hope you will not be another forgotten story. Myself a visually impaired double gold medalist appear to be forgotten @AkaiAngeline
@NyakundiReport Congratulations 👏 @Kelvinkiarie hope the ministry @moyasa_ke will take note of your great achievement. This appears to be the trend because as a visually impaired double gold medalist in world championship, we are yet to be recognised... @AkaiAngeline
Today, we celebrate the strength and leadership of women and girls with disabilities. Your voices, experiences and contributions continue to challenge barriers and inspire change in our communities.
Happy #InternationalWomensDay🌸
The United Disabled Persons of Kenya (UDPK), through the #WeCanWork Project, is inviting qualified #consultants and firms to express interest in producing Kenya Sign Language (KSL) videos with transcriptions of key disability policy and legal documents. The assignment focuses on improving access to information for the Deaf and strengthening inclusive participation in disability rights and development processes.
The consultancy will involve translating and interpreting the Africa Disability Protocol, the Persons with Disabilities Act 2025, the Persons with Disabilities National Policy, and selected national and county-level programs into high-quality, accessible KSL video content. Deliverables include professionally produced videos, synchronized captions, editable files for future use, and a plain-language user guide.
The assignment will run for four weeks, under the supervision of the UDPK Programs Team. Consultants with experience in sign language interpretation, accessible communication, disability rights, and inclusive video production are encouraged to apply. Persons with disabilities are strongly encouraged to submit applications.
Deadline for submission: Friday, 19 December 2025 at 5:00 PM
Application subject: Application for Sign Language Interpretation of Key Policy Documents on Disability Inclusion

This initiative is part of UDPK’s ongoing commitment to advancing accessibility, inclusion, and equal access to information for persons with disabilities in Kenya.
Findings from @UraiaTrust civic education study reveal significant gaps in the inclusion of persons with disabilities in civic discourse, resulting in limited leadership opportunities and reduced participation in democratic and governance processes.
Addressing these gaps requires intentional investment by Stakeholders including County @KenyaGovernors and National Governments , @NAssemblyKE , in inclusive and accessible civic education programming that responds to the lived realities of persons with disabilities.
Strengthening such approaches will enhance their agency, participation, and influence in decision-making processes that shape inclusive development agendas.
